Finding Your Strength And Peace In Difficult Times
I’ve noticed many of my clients feeling as though the world is crumbling around them lately, unsure of how to navigate the chaos that surrounds them.
If this is true for you, then it is essential to remind yourself that the actions and choices of others do not define your path – it’s theirs to walk, not yours. Your focus should remain on your journey and how you can positively impact the world around you. Spirit has been very clear in its guidance in this regard.
Everyone has something in their soul that they need to release, move past and grow from or it will just karmically repeat itself in every lifetime. Let go of trying to fix other people or solve their problems and just move forward with your own life. Do not give your power away to anyone, for Source is with you and always wants you to keep your power.
If you find yourself constantly watching the news, engaging with negative content on social media, or dealing with recent grief from the loss of loved ones to suicide, terminal illness, or strained relationships, it’s time to take a step back and ground yourself.
Grief, stress, and anxiety can take a toll on your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. During these times, reconnecting with your spirituality and grounding yourself can provide comfort, strength, and a sense of peace. It is important that you do not let go of your inner power or allow the outside world to suck the life out of you.
You may feel that no one cares and no one is there for you. You may feel that God, Source, Spirit, the Divine has abandoned you. Please know that you are never alone. Your higher self, your guides, your angels and your higher power never leave your side. You may be going through a difficult time in your life, but know that this is temporary. Your life will move forward and things will get better sooner than you think.
Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they’re supposed to help you discover who you are ~ Bernice Johnson Reagon
Ground and shield yourself daily, and ask your guides what their message for you is for the day, and then really listen. Allow the guidance to come through and be a part of your deepest thoughts. You have this and you are not alone.
Here are some practical steps to help you through a difficult, dark time in your life.
Spiritual Practice
A daily spiritual practice is key when life gets you down. You need a routine or set of daily activities to connect with your inner self, spirit, and higher power. Your chosen activities may include meditation, prayer, mindfulness, journaling, reading sacred texts, candle rituals, divination using oracle cards, runes or a pendulum, and so on.
The goal is to foster a sense of peace, purpose, and alignment with your values and beliefs, providing a foundation for emotional resilience and personal growth. Consistency in these practices will help you cultivate a deeper sense of spiritual inner strength, grounding, and protection, providing a stable anchor in the midst of life’s worst challenges.
At the very least it is vital to ground yourself every day. If you can, take off your shoes and just stand in a patch of grass every day. If possible, stand in a lake, ocean, river or spring. You do not have to go in deep, just stand so that your feet are covered. You connect with the earth and the water, and at the same time you connect with the air and the sky. Just close your eyes for a few moments and ask your Higher Self to allow your angels and guides to come in and cleanse the negativity of the world from your DNA and your mind so that you can move forward with a clarity and knowing that everything is going to be okay.
Grounding daily is important. It gives you clarity and it brings a knowing that you can overcome anything that comes your way. Grounding is a treatment that is sometimes more helpful in life than medicine. It brings healing and clarity to the soul. It brings a sense of peace in the moment. (This is not to stop any medical treatment you may be undergoing; it is simply to heal the sou and the inner you).

Lifestyle & Self-Care
Lifestyle choices and self-care practices play a critical role in navigating stressful and traumatic times. Making healthy choices, such as eating a balanced, whole-food diet, engaging in regular physical activity, and getting enough sleep, strengthens the mind and body and improves resilience to stress. Establishing a structured daily routine can provide a sense of normalcy and control.
Self-care activities such as salt baths, aromatherapy, hobbies, and spending time in nature provide relaxation, relief, and a sense of control. In addition, setting boundaries, seeking social support, and taking breaks to relax and recharge can help manage stress and prevent burnout. These intentional actions create a foundation for coping with challenges and promote a more balanced and stable state of mind during difficult times.
In particular, nature has a calming and grounding effect and can help you feel more connected to the world around you. Spending time outdoors can reduce stress, improve your mood, and increase your overall sense of well-being. Take a walk in a park, hike in the mountains, or sit by a lake. Take in the beauty and tranquility of nature. If you can’t get outside, try bringing nature into your home. Houseplants, flowers, and natural light can create a calming environment. Even looking at pictures of nature can have a calming effect.
Limit Negativity
Constant exposure to negative news and social media can be overwhelming and undoubtedly contribute to feelings of anxiety and despair. Limiting these negative influences in your life is crucial to maintaining mental and emotional well-being. Take a break from these influences and instead focus on positive and uplifting content. Limit your news consumption and be selective about the social media accounts you follow.
By setting boundaries and reducing our intake of negative content, we create space for more positive and uplifting experiences. This allows us to protect our mental health, cultivate a more optimistic outlook, and focus on constructive coping strategies. By consciously choosing to surround ourselves with positivity, whether it’s engaging in activities that bring us joy, connecting with supportive people, or consuming uplifting media, we empower ourselves to face challenges with greater resilience and inner strength.
Fill your time with activities that feed your spirit. Read inspiring books, watch uplifting movies, or listen to music that soothes your soul. Surround yourself with positivity to offset the negativity in the world.

Seek Support
Seeking social and professional support during difficult times can provide invaluable assistance in overcoming challenges. Social support from friends, family, or support groups offers a sense of belonging and understanding, providing emotional comfort and validation. Being able to share thoughts and feelings with others can reduce loneliness and isolation, while receiving encouragement and practical help can build resilience.
In addition, professional support from therapists, counselors, or mental health professionals offers specialized guidance and tools to address complex emotions and develop coping strategies. These professionals provide a safe space to explore feelings, gain perspective, and learn skills to effectively manage stress and adversity. Seeing a therapist, counselor, or psychiatrist can give you the tools and guidance you need to work through your challenges. Professional support provides a safe space to discuss your feelings and develop coping strategies.
Getting a psychic reading can also offer hope, reassurance and perspective. The process of receiving a reading can be cathartic, offering validation of your feelings and experiences. A reading with a reputable psychic or medium can offer alternative points of view and possible ways to overcome challenges.
Selfless Service
Engaging in acts of kindness, living with purpose, and contributing to a better world can provide profound benefits during difficult times. Helping others not only brings joy and fulfillment but also fosters a sense of connection and belonging. By focusing on the needs of others, we shift our attention away from our own challenges, gaining perspective and a renewed sense of purpose.
Living with purpose gives us a reason to persevere through adversity, motivating us to strive for meaningful goals and make a positive impact. Additionally, selfless service allows us to tap into our innate capacity for empathy and compassion, fostering resilience and promoting a sense of interconnectedness with others. In contributing to a better world, we find solace in the belief that our actions, no matter how small, can make a difference, instilling hope and inspiring perseverance in the face of life’s trials.

Practice Gratitude
Gratitude is a powerful practice that can shift your focus from what’s wrong to what’s right in your life. It shifts our focus from what we lack to what we have. When facing challenges, it’s easy to get caught up in negative thoughts and emotions, which can exacerbate feelings of stress, anxiety, and despair. However, cultivating gratitude allows us to consciously acknowledge and appreciate the positive aspects of our lives, no matter how small they may seem.
By practicing gratitude, we train our minds to notice the blessings, joys, and opportunities that surround us, even in the midst of adversity. This shift in perspective can help reduce feelings of hopelessness and overwhelm, foster resilience, and promote a sense of emotional well-being. In addition, the practice of gratitude has been linked to numerous psychological and physical benefits, including improved mood, increased optimism, better sleep, and a better overall quality of life.
Take a few moments each day to reflect on what you’re grateful for. It could be something as simple as a sunny day, a kind word from a friend, or a good meal. Keeping a gratitude journal can help make this practice a habit. Each night, write down three things you’re grateful for. Over time, you’ll notice more positive aspects of your life and feel more grounded and content.
Reconnecting with yourself and your spirituality and grounding yourself during dark and difficult times is a journey. It takes patience, self-compassion, and commitment. By incorporating these ten steps into your life, you can gradually find a sense of peace and resilience. Remember, it’s okay to seek support and to take things one day at a time. Your mental and emotional well-being is worth the effort.
