Focus On Your Own Karma

Click Here NOW for a FREE psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comI often get questions about karma, vengeance, and divine justice from clients when I do readings. Will the haters get what’s coming to them? Will karma finally get my cheating ex? Will my abusive employer get his comeuppance someday? If so, how long will it take for them to feel the hurt and pain they inflicted on me?

When someone calls me hoping to hear that the other person will get their ‘karma,’ it usually relates to a recent incident and they feel like the rug has been pulled from under them – especially when the attack or betrayal was seemingly unfounded. They usually hope for immediate, soul-crushing retribution!

In my own life, I have not experienced such ‘instant karma.’ In fact, true karmic debt is a very slow turning wheel. Expecting immediate payback is a lost cause and a foolish pursuit. Revenge is sweet, they say, but the spiritual truth is that seeking venegeance will only add to your own karmic debt. If someone has hurt or wronged us, the pain will ease over time. Time heals all wounds, even if the scars remain.

The only meaningful ‘payback’ I have ever experienced in my own life, was the times when I received apologies from loved ones on the other side in mediumship readings. Those messages all came from the souls of family members who have completed their life review after their transition. Once we cross over into the spirit realm, we always get new clarity and an expanded understanding of our actions, or lack thereof, and how it has caused harm to others. For some souls this process takes much longer than for others.

This happened to me on several occasions over the years, with various mediums relaying spirit messages of remorse, apologies, and loved ones asking for my forgiveness. In every instance the ‘perpetrator’ had no idea of the impact they had had on me while they were in this life. Some of them also explained that their hurtful actions were due to a learned dysfunctional behaviors and trauma from their own life experiences, especially from childhood.

You cannot do harm to someone because someone has done harm to you. You will pay just like they will ~ Ericka Williams

It is said that when we die, we go through a life review process. It is a phenomenon widely reported by people who have had a near-death experience. In many cases, they report some kind of life review experience and often return to this life quite transformed, with a deep sense of compassion and a profound appreciation of the miracle life.

A friend told me recently about the profound change in her husband, after he almost died of surgical complications. During a traumatic near-death experience, he saw an angel and communicated with her (he said it was female energy). These days he is much less perfectionistic and controlling than he used to be, and now truly appreciates the little things in his life. He told her he feels he will never be the same again – at least not in this lifetime!

This life review is a flashback in which we see the totality of our life history like a documentary film, in which we also feel every emotion others have experienced because of our actions. Spirit has also confirmed to me that these emotions are felt much more powerfully and intensely, making each soul aware of the true impact, for better or worse, that they have made during their last incarnation.

Some souls are also completely oblivious to how much they had wounded others. I have seen in readings it is sometimes a pre-birth soul contract they chose to take on, in order to offer others certain spiritual growth experiences for the fulfilment of their soul purpose.

Can you be compassionate even to those who have no compassion? If so, there is no finer karma that you can create ~ Gary Zukav

In some cases, they may have had a pre-birth plan to address their own lack of compassion and cruelty in a previous life, but once again they ‘fell back into their old ways’ and did not accomplish their spiritual mission this time around. In these instances, they will have to come back again, and have another attempt at getting it right. Life can be tough schoolroom.

Spirit has shown me repeatedly in readings that instead of seeking revenge or hoping to ‘get even,’ as well as obsessing over other people’s karma, we should instead rather concern ourselves with our own karma, and become much more aware of how our own actions may affect others.

Nobody is perfect and we have all negatively affected or hurt someone in our current lifetime, whether we realize it, or not. Striving to identify and correct our own wrongdoings, working to prevent it from happening again, and generating good karma is what matters most for our own soul growth and lasting inner peace.

We cannot always comprehend the effect our deeds will have on others. What I do know from spirit’s guidance is that our kind deeds, generosity and benevolence will return to bless us tenfold.
