The Healing Embrace Of Mother Nature
Throughout my life, especially during the most difficult times, the one thing I have always been able to count on is Mother Nature. Gaia, the Great Mother, has always served me well.
I grew up in California, where there is an abundance of water: water falls, creeks, rivers, lakes and the spectacular Pacific Ocean. I had quick and easy access to hiking paths, and other adventures and recreational activities in the great outdoors. In fact, next to dance, hiking was my favorite form of exercise in my teenage years.
When times are difficult, I have always sought out nature. It is so much easier to block out other people’s negativity when all you can see is God’s magnificent creation. It’s divine intent, joy, beauty, harmony, balance, and timelessness.
In the arms of Mother Nature, there is the freedom to tune out all the noise and toxic energy of others…and just hear the voice of Go. It helps you to center yourself, and clear out the negative energy and drama other people sometimes bring into your life.
I find that those of us who live in large cities and urban areas are more likely to get swallowed up by the negative energy of others. We can simply not get away from it in our daily lives. Going back to a home every day, where there is still a lot of radiation and traffic noise, will not let you heal or reenergize.
We all need to take the time to hear our inner voice. No cars, no talking, no noise. Just our own thoughts and inner guidance. We must make time to just hear the voice of spirit within. Otherwise, the voice of the ego that we hear in our head becomes toxic with negative self-talk.
God’s natural world is a temple of healing, a shrine of grace, a sanctuary for the burdened soul. This is why nature must also be protected. By protecting nature, we are protecting God. Mature is a gift to us from Source. It belongs to all of us, including future generations.

The wind cleans out our aura. Water is our re-birthing tool. The trees purify the air we breathe, and teach us to ground and center ourselves. We must cleanse our energy just like the trees do. The flowers teach us to be fearless and share our natural beauty and uniqueness, and to be proud of our diverse shapes, sizes and colors. .
If you can’t get outside into nature, then at least buy some nature sounds, without background music. The singing of birds, for examples, balance our chakras and emanate their own healing vibrations. The healing, calming sounds of water or wind can make a tremendous difference to our well-being and state of mind.
Another substitute, that is very useful if you cannot escape into nature on a regular basis, is to create your own nature shrine at home. A shrine is your own little church or temple. It is a place you go to any time when you need to get centered, cry, chant, heal or recharge.
It’s easy to put these things off. When you have a shrine, it will make it harder to put it off and more appealing to meditate or engage in other daily spiritual practice.
Find ways to bring nature into your shrine. Any flowers or plants put into your shrine should be alive and have healing properties.

A shrine is also be a great way to keep others in your thoughts and prayers. If you have a loved one in need, you can put their picture on the altar in your shrine, or a rock or crystal or flower that reminds you of them. Energy travels and separates, so these simple gestures and symbols can draw your loved one’s energy into your shrine, and also send them love and light from your sacred space.
It is not recommended that you allow others into your shrine. Their energy can change the energy of your personal holy space, or even taint it. This is the one place that is yours and yours alone. Only your vibration is allowed. No one may disturb it, change it or bring negativity to it. it is your sacred space.
Any time someone comes to you with a sadness or problem, pray for them in your shrine and leave their problems, your worries and your problems there. Let your angels take everything you bring to your shrine away. Leave your worries and pain behind there. Walk away from it with only love and forgiveness in your heart.
