When Will Your Loved Ones In Spirit Make Contact?

I recently attended my nearest spiritualism centre here in Spain. They don’t have formal Spiritualist churches here, but other venues are used for spiritualist services in various locations across the country. The services I attend are held at a large bakery owned by fellow expats who have passion for spiritualism and enjoy bringing believers together to connect with their loved ones on the Other Side.

At this particular service, a gifted medium from England took the platform. Her energy was serene and caring, and the loving energy among the large gathering was tangible.

Healing was first offered to those in need by a group of spiritual healers prior to the session. Distant healing was also sent to people and pets that could not attend. Their names were read from a list for the congregation to send healing energy. One could feel the unlimited abundance of love energy in the room!

The last time I felt such an intense energy vibration was at the end of a week-long course I attended at the Arthur Findlay College of Spiritualism and Psychic Sciences decades ago. All the inspired students and their mentors were gathered in the large hall for a farewell meditation. A large basket of flowers had been placed in the middle of the auditorium, and I literally saw it levitate a few of inches off the floor that night. The energy from the crowd and spirit’s presence in the room was that loving and powerful!

My father passed almost 17 years ago, but through the years I have had very little spirit communication from my father. Although we were quite close most of my life, and I had nursed him through his final months of terminal illness, he had become bitter and exceptionally domineering towards the end of his life.

The departed goes through something called a ‘spirit life review.’ This is a process of transition where the soul let’s go of all the negative anger, grudges and regrets that were once experienced here on Earth ~ Matt Fraser

The limited spirit contact I have experienced since his passing has always been courtesy of a medium, with the assistance of a spirit guide on the other side. But at this recent spiritualist service, I was blessed to receive a very direct, personal message from my father, together with an explanation of why it has taken him so long to make clear contact with me.

The medium who was channeling that day, looked directly at me and said, “I have a lady’s father here.” She then accurately described my father’s personality and physical appearance when he was in this life. I instantly knew the message was for me. I was also the only person in the crowd who could relate to her description of him, and the content of his message.

She defined him as very proud and controlling man and confirmed that I had eventually broken out of his claustrophobic sphere of control (she said this while drawing an invisible circle in the air). She added that although it was extremely difficult at the time, it was necessary for me to grow as my own person.

“You simply had to do it,” she said. “And as upset as he was back then, he realizes now how much he had hurt and alienated you. His main purpose connecting today is to explain why he had been the way he was. It was a family legacy pattern he had learned from his own controlling mother, which he did not recognize at the time. He strives to now offer you greater understanding, so that he can hopefully begin to build a new relationship with you in spirit.”

The night before the service, I had fished my father’s favorite ring out of a storage box and put in on a long chain around my neck, to wear beneath my blouse the next day during the service. I kept touching the ring that night, as well as on the drive over to the spiritualist centre. I also talked to my dad in the car, asking him to kindly come through that day.

Your loved one on the other side needs some time to adjust in their new role as a heavenly being, to their new self, a new way of doing things and even learning how to communicate with a medium…some loved ones take longer getting adjusted than others ~ Bonnie Page

As I often explain to my clients, there is no set timeframe for when departed loved ones will eventually come through after their transition, but eventually they will. Clearly, my father had a lot more work to do than many other souls, and that is why it took him very long to make direct contact. Your loved ones may be ready to connect directly with you much sooner, sometimes even immediately after their passing. But if they are not yet able to and want to get a message to us there are many wonderful messengers, in this life and the next, who can act as mediators to bring us some interim reassurance, comfort and hope of their continued existence on the Other Side.

By the way, this includes our pets and other sentients beings we may have been instrumental in helping some way while they were in this life. Because the love never dies.
