Practical Ways To Cleanse And Protect Your Energy

Click Here NOW for a FREE psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comWe often blame other people or circumstances for feeling tired, burdened, overwhelmed, or depressed, while in truth it is due to our own choices and actions.

When we do not take care to maintain a raised energy vibration, lower or ‘dense’ energies begin to affect us in a negative way. It typically manifests as general physical and emotional exhaustion, or feeling drained. There may also be recurring episodes of ‘bad luck.’

How do we cause this lowered energy frequency? The main cause is negative thoughts and limiting, false beliefs. Our daily reality experience is the result of our thoughts and beliefs. We are personally responsible for the vibes we exchange with our surroundings and the rest of the world.

No matter what belief system or religion you subscribe to, energy protection is always necessary. Every day we are exposed to etheric energies imbued with despair, conflict, hatred, and anger, but nothing can get into our energy field if we do not allow it to enter. So, always protect yourself and shield your energy.

True spiritual protection and energy shielding is however never about fear, insecurity, or paranoia, nor is it about focusing on the negative. On the contrary, it is a way to keep our lives open to the blessings available to us every day. By protecting our energy, we make sure that we are open to every good thing that moves around us and to every soul that wants to vibrate in a key of joy with us.

There are many spiritual and metaphysical practices for achieving and maintaining energetic security and a raised vibration, such as prayer, meditation, visualization, cleansing rituals, and invoking guides, saints, or a particular deity. The following practices are also useful to incorporate in your everyday lifestyle.

Appropriate rituals channel your emotions and life energy toward the light. Without the discipline to practice them, you will tumble constantly backward into darkness ~ Laozi

Barefoot Grounding

The first thing I always do when I get home is to take off my shoes. You can take off your shoes and stand in the sacred space in your house, for example if you have an altar, or it can also be outside in in your garden.

Ground yourself into your bare feet by centering your energy, taking several deep breaths, and visualizing all negativity discharging down your legs and through the soles of your feet, into the ground. Feel the earth receiving and transforming that energy into clean energy that returns to you.

The tradition of taking off your shoes before entering a sacred space is an ancient spiritual custom. In most Indian and Middle Eastern religions, it is customary to remove one’s shoes when entering a holy place of worship.

In Exodus 3:5 in the Bible, God says to Moses, “Do not come any closer. Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” In many mandirs and mosques, as well as some churches, it remains customary for worshippers to remove their shoes before entering the presence of the divine.

In many countries and cultures all over the world people still leave their shoes at the door when they enter a home. This is a wise custom. Do not allow visitors to bring unwelcome energies into your home. Mahatma Gandhi once said, “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.”

Purification Baths

Showers and baths have a way of soothing the body and calming the mind. We always feel energized and renewed, even after a quick shower. This is the purifying power of water in action. It takes away whatever is not ‘us,’ and that is what purification is all about – getting rid of foreign energies.

If you have the time to take a long, slow bath, try this formula widely used in South America. Fill your bathtub and add a handful of coarse salt and seven dashes of white vinegar. If there is no bathtub, you can put it in a jar, and when you finish your shower, use it from the neck down.

Salt is a purifying element used in cleansing baths. Vinegar is an acidic element, and as such, it cleanses and purifies negative energies. In fact, in gnostic tradition it is believed that it is the great liberator of bad energy clusters known as astral ‘larvae’ or spiritual ‘parasites’ that attach to our astral body or energy field.

Florida Water

Instead of salt and vinegar, one can also prepare a cleansing bath with a few drops of ‘florida water.’ Florida water is a special water potion that is used to enhance cleansing and clearing rituals.

The name “Florida water” originated from the legend of the mystical ‘fountain of youth’ being located somewhere in Florida.

Florida water can be made with various herbs and cleansing essential oils, depending on its intended use, including lemon, neroli, lavender, ylang-ylang, or bergamot. Its aroma is ideal for inducing relaxation, and mental and spiritual tranquility.

Crystal Power

Crystals are our great metaphysical allies from the mineral world. They have been around for millions of years. They change the energy around them, and we can harness those changes for our highest good.

Crystals resonate with our conflicts and transmit their potential to us. The properties they keep are in each of us. So, pay attention. The stones you choose for your life speak of what you need to integrate. When a crystal comes to you, you must activate and remember those qualities, consciously approaching them.

A few interesting stones I use in my own practice are:

Tourmaline: black stones connect us with the lower chakras and helps us to cleanse and purify, connecting with the earth.

Crystal quartz: white stones enhance the light and boosts healing energy. It also calms us and promotes purity.

Amethyst: the violet color of this beautiful, fantastic quartz connects us with the upper chakras. It empowers us to transform our most difficult emotions into energy we can use for our highest good.
