From Ancient Mystics To Modern Psychics
Psychics and mediums have been around since the dawn of human civilization: from the shamans in indigenous cultures, to the oracles of ancient Greece and Rome, the seers and druids of Celtic societies, the sages of ancient China, and the prophets of ancient Middle Eastern cultures.
Some famous examples include Pythia, the Oracle of Delphi in ancient Greece; the Celtic soothsayer Myrddin Wyllt, also known as Merlin in later Arthurian legends; the Chinese wu (shaman) Jing Fang; Black Elk, the renowned Native American holy man of the Oglala Lakota Sioux people; Isaiah, the renowned prophet of the ancient Near East; and Agastya, the revered Hindu sage and seer.
Throughout human history, in different cultures and societies, there have always been individuals with mystical abilities who held important roles within their communities and served as intermediaries between the physical world and spiritual realms.
They served as conduits of divine wisdom, predicting future events, providing insight into hidden truths, and offering guidance on various matters. They often acted as special advisors to tribal leaders, rulers, and kings, and typically played an important role in the moral and spiritual direction of their people.
The term “psychic” comes from the Greek word psychikos, meaning “of the soul, spirit, or mind.” In Greek mythology, Psyche was the goddess of the soul. Her name literally means “soul” or “breath.” Over time, the term came to encompass aspects of the mind beyond the ordinary.
In the mid-19th century, the term “psychic” began to be used more broadly to describe phenomena that are beyond ordinary human capabilities, such as telepathy, clairvoyance, communication with spirits or other non-physical entities, and other forms of extrasensory perception. This was due to increasing interest and exploration into spiritualism, psychical research, and paranormal phenomena in Europe and North America at the time.

Today, the term “psychic” is still used to describe people who continue the traditions and legacy of the ancient seers, prophets and oracles, and the term is now also used more broadly in popular culture to refer to the paranormal or supernatural aspects of the mind.
Whether psychics are born with their abilities or develop them through practice and training is a subject of ongoing research, debate, and speculation. I believe that psychic ability is innate in all of us, but that it is a natural gift or talent that benefits from focused skill development.
Many psychics develop later in life through deliberate engagement. However, children often share psychic information by talking to “imaginary” friends, for example, or by stating facts that are outside of their conscious experience, such as past life memories or having chosen their parents before birth.
My Own Psychic Awakening
My mother recognized my psychic abilities when I was a child. I chalked it up to dreams and imagination and did not pay much attention to it. It wasn’t until I was in high school in 1973 that I took it more seriously.
I had a disturbing dream in which I was involved in a car accident in which I suffered injuries. Two months later, this dream suddenly made shocking sense when it happened in real life, complete with the injuries I foresaw in the dream. This experience opened the door to my exploration and development as a psychic. It shattered my careless disregard and ignited a deep curiosity to understand and harness my psychic gifts, striving to navigate the blurred boundary between the seen and unseen realms with greater clarity and purpose.
Sharpening my psychic awareness and learning about the unseen realm over time gave me a lot of confidence and additional resources to tap into. It was life changing.
Before becoming a professional psychic, I used my psychic abilities to improve my life choices and decisions. As a microchip designer for over 30 years, I also used my psychic abilities in my work to supplement my analytical knowledge with “intuition.” When troubleshooting an unusual design failure, I would ask spirit to guide me to the solution. I even did this successfully with other people’s designs to predict potential problems. Over the years, other engineers noticed my uncanny ability. When they asked me about it, I would simply say, “My gut tells me so.
Today, I feel privileged and blessed to be able to use my psychic abilities to help others. Many people are in need of healing, comfort and trustworthy guidance in these challenging times. As a psychic counselor, I help my clients see that there is light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how dark things may seem in the present moment. This hope is invaluable. It provides the strength and resilience needed to face challenges head on. To come out the other side stronger.

The Psychic’s Role In A Modern World
Do psychics and mediums still serve a purpose in today’s world of science, digital technology, and artificial intelligence? Absolutely, yes! While science and technology continue to bring many benefits to our modern lives, psychics and mediums still offer unique forms of guidance, support and insight that has resonated with humanity for millennia in ways that alogorithms and technological devices never will.
Psychics addressing the metaphysical and spiritual aspects of the human experience ensures our continued relevance in a modern world. Despite the many advances in science and technology, many aspects of life, love, and human existence will remain forever mysterious and ineffable. Psychics and mediums offer perspectives and answers that science has not yet been able to provide, and probably never will.
One of the primary values of psychics is our ability to provide perspective on life’s challenges and a unique insight into personal and professional situations. This can be especially beneficial for those who feel stuck or overwhelmed. A psychic reading provides the clarity needed to move forward with confidence. A skilled psychic, who is not attached to the information they receive from the unseen realm, is able to share the information with compassion and reframe these challenges.
In addition, mediums provide comfort, reassurance, and closure when dealing with the loss of a loved one or pet. A skilled psychic medium can confirm the presence of a deceased loved one through a description of their personality, how they died, and special memories. The guidance offered by the deceased loved one may include how to deal with a difficult relationship or an important life decision. A medium can provide guidance, a sense of connection to the afterlife, and a transpersonal understanding that is difficult to find elsewhere.
Another value of psychics is our ability to help people understand themselves better. Through a psychic reading, one gains insight into personal strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies. This allows you to make better decisions and navigate through life. This self-awareness can be very empowering, helping you to see opportunities to take control of your life and create a better future.
When you find a psychic or medium with whom you resonate and feel comfortable with their style and accuracy, then trust and confide in them. With their guidance, you will become more in tune with yourself, and your personal and spiritual growth will benefit in ways you never imagined. And as your connection with Spirit grows, you will expand and radiate it to family, friends and co-workers.
As a practicing psychic, even I sometimes need guidance from other psychics to ensure that my personal and spiritual expansion continues. Sometimes I also need validation of my goals, hopes and dreams when I get too attached to possible outcomes.
Predicting The Future
Can psychics predict the future? Yes, but there are limitations because future outcomes are only a probability. Our future manifests through our own individual choices and actions that support specific desired outcomes. In my experience, outcomes can be delayed, accelerated, or discontinued because they are no longer desired. However, the probability of future outcomes can certainly be predicted.
Over the years, returning clients often confirm that the timeframe information they receive from my readings is significantly more accurate than chance. So, future events are indeed predictable, but with the caveat that they require decisive thought, focus and action. And when a prediction does not come true in the original timeline, we need to change our thoughts and actions (or lack thereof) instead of getting stressed, stuck or feeling defeated.
