Embracing The Uncertainty Of Change
One of the earliest life lessons I had to learn the hard way is that change is the only thing that ever consistently happens in life. We cannot avoid it. It is fundamental to our journey in this lifetime to learn to embrace change, as without it we cannot grow and evolve as spiritual beings.
Yet, change causes much fear and apprehension for many people. It can be daunting. This is in fact one of the reasons why clients contact me for advice and predictions. In life it is vital to always be prepared for change.
Being mentally and emotionally prepared gives us a greater sense of control over any forthcoming event and thus alleviate some of its stress. Who wants to remain stagnant anyway? It is vital to look for the good that change can bring, rather than dwell on any potential negative impact it could bring about. We need to take on board the necessity to learn and strengthen from it.
Change comes in many forms. For example, it is estimated some people change their homes up to eight times in their lifespan. How stressful is that? But instead of focusing too heavily on the downside, such as the stress of buying, selling and packing, spirit advises we see a new home as a beautiful new chapter in our lives. Think of it as an exciting fresh start and allow yourself time to adjust. You may soon be happier in your new abode than you could ever imagine!
Beginning a new job is equally stressful. For whatever reason you find yourself in new employment, the very thought of walking into a new workplace on a Monday morning, meeting new colleagues in unfamiliar environment is always daunting. However, rather than be afraid, advises spirit, why not congratulate yourself for being there in the first place?

After all, you were the one chosen for this new role. Therefore, you were the one who beat the competition to be there! Isn’t that something to smile about? Spirit also suggests we forget about ‘proving’ ourselves to others. All you need do is do your best and prove yourself to yourself. By doing so, you will prove yourself to everybody.
Major life events and transitions, such as divorce, ill health and the death of loved ones, can all be devastatingly overwhelming. Acknowledgement of our loss and grief in these situations can be challenging, and even the most resilient people can be ripped apart by it. But these are also the times, teaches spirit, for us to cultivate self-care, self-love and compassion for others.
True, you may not feel like doing any of that while sorting out issues such as dividing assets and parental custody, arranging funerals, or dealing with medical treatments. However, self-nurture is necessary to get you through these changes and towards becoming stronger, wiser being.
Never forget the importance of self-nurture. When our mind is constantly obsessing over potential problems that a time of change could bring about, it is impossible to focus constructively on oneself. Keeping our mind, body and soul as healthy as possible helps us to navigate our way through change more effectively.
Whatever kind of change you may find yourself going through, it is important to acknowledge how you are feeling. Not acknowledging your emotions during a period of change is futile and unwise. It is perfectly human to feel scared sometimes, and there is no shame in being vulnerable. But endeavoring to numb the pain with denial or unhealthy forms of escapism is never the way to go, because suppressing our true feelings only cause them to fester and prolongs the healing and growth process.
Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge ~ Eckhart Tolle
Never be too afraid to ask for help. We all need help on occasion and should not feel embarrassed or ashamed to reach out to those we trust when change comes knocking. Humans are wired for social connection, so we need to be more open to turn to others for their support and understanding. And if there is no one we can turn to, thankfully there are many services, apps, books, websites, podcasts, and social media platforms available to help carry us through. Even though they cannot ‘lend an ear’ like a best friend might, they can offer fantastic advice and be a source of inspiration and comfort.
Most of all learn the art of relaxation and cultivate some inner peace. During any change or challenge, relaxation is essential as it helps you gather your energy and momentum to keep going through the transition. Whatever enables you to relax, be it a walk in nature, immersing yourself in a good book, enjoying a warm relaxing aromatherapy bath, just go for it. Doing so should help you to feel in control of your circumstances rather than being controlled by them. Just be sure to make healthy choices.
