I Am Love – The Power Of Creating Your Life
As an intuitive, I do my best to gauge how things are unfolding in a given situation. I gain insight from Spirit about how things are unfolding, based on the momentum of a situation. That being said, I do not believe that we are fated into anything in this life, nor is our future static. I do my best to stay away from ‘fortune telling’ language, because it often takes away from the innate power of our own actions.
Every focused intention is a cause that will lead us to an effect. So, the best we can do in our lives is to ascertain what type of action creates an ideal circumstance. In my experience loving causes as a rule create the ideal circumstances and open up the highest path for the individual.
In the esoteric Christian tradition it is stated that, “God is Love.” So, to align with the will of Love is in essence aligning with the Creative Force of the Universe. It is certainly true that there is a higher effect when we are able to align with the will of Love. The challenging part is to ascertain Love’s will.
You are a particle in this great big universe that because of your divinity, are able to manifest greatness! You are so alive that what you think becomes reality, and what you create, well, it becomes your environment ~ Yvette Lopez
I am convinced that every human being on this planet is able to connect with Spirit, and have no need for a mediator. We don’t need priests, pastors, religious rites, or churches to mediate for us. We don’t need psychics for that matter either. There is certainly value in all of those things, because they can act like sign posts on this human journey. However, each of us is responsible for our own human experience and our alignment with Love.
One of my mentors talks about prayer like this, she says that every thought we think is a prayer. I believe that this is very true. Our thoughts are the focus of our deeper belief system. Either it will represent the fear based thinking of this world, or it will represent the Love that is available through trust.
Mainstream Western spiritual and religious culture has in many ways been playing the telephone game when it comes to God and Love. We focus our intention on saints and spiritual gurus, but their message has been lost in translation. Just like the ‘telephone game’ children play, the words of Spirit can be muddied when personal experience is lacking.
A message of, “I love you,” can after many recitations become convoluted, and may end up as, “Guy slug you,” or something crazy like that. Did you play the telephone game when you were young?
The message of the saints is not that the miraculous is unattainable, or outside of ourselves. It is that the experience of God is available to all of us. I really like the explanation of the fruit of the spirit, as a way of understanding whether or not we are presently aligned with God or Love. They are the experiences of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and self-control.
If we are not experiencing at least one of these qualities related to a situation, then we know we have deviated from what is available to us. That does not mean challenging emotions don’t have a place. I do my best to befriend my challenging emotions, because they are there to point us in the direction of Spirit. They show us something is out of order, and until that is remedied they will often not leave us alone.
When you are aware that you are thinking, that awareness is not part of thinking. It is a different dimension of consciousness. It is that awareness that says “I AM” ~ Eckhart Tolle
So, I am not preaching that we must “be happy” all the time. That being said, it is wise to pay close attention and observe emotions. In doing so, you will find that every emotion brings with it a message that can lead to greater understanding and healing.
It is important here that you do not observe your emotions as a part of your innate being. You are not the sadness you experienced when something troubling happened. However, the grief is certainly an important part of the healing process. It can be experienced and observed, rather than a substantially defining your character.
There is value in changing certain language patterns. In the Ten Commandments in the Bible there is one commandment that states, “Thou shalt not take the Lord’s name in vain.”
In most translations when you see “Lord” in all caps it means that they have used a traditional Hasidic rule for translating the name of “God,” instead of translating the meaning of the name word for word from the Hebrew. This rule is true for most, but not all Judeo-Christian and Jewish biblical translations.
So, the question is then, what is God’s actual name, and why is it so important? The transliteration English translation is “YHVH” or “Yahweh” or “Jehovah.” The meaning of this word is literally “I am.”
So, the actual commandment of “Thou shalt not take the Lord’s name in vain” means to not use the term “I am” vainly or through ego level of consciences. This is why what we think and say is so important. The “I am” state is a state of personal power, a power that religious texts have been hiding to gain greater power over people.
It is important to point out here that this is also why the Pharisees were so irritated with Jesus. He used the actual term, “I am,” when describing God. This does not mean that we are the whole of who God is, but it does identify the connection that we have always had with our Source.
Give time, give space to sprout your potential. Awaken the beauty of your heart – the beauty of your spirit. There are infinite possibilities ~ Amit Ray
So pay attention to your “I am” thoughts and words. When we say, “I am,” it is in essence a statement of creation. “I am” invokes the creative power within. We do it all the time to describe our experiences. I am happy, sad, angry. Those experiences are valid, but they do not define your true nature.
I want to say here that I am not telling you this from a ‘holier than thou’ perspective. My own language is evolving as well, but I do believe that an injustice has been done through the dogmatic telephone game explanation of God. We have placed God as an out there and completely separate entity.
There is a line in A Course in Miracles that says a thought cannot leave its source. We were created as an idea in the mind of God and then spoken into existence – at least according to many creation myths. We are all thoughts in the mind of God, and since a thought cannot leave its source, then we are still a part of that Source.
Another example that The Kybalion uses is that of Shakespeare and Hamlet. Hamlet is certainly not Shakespeare, but Shakespeare is in Hamlet. They are connected through the act of creation.
This then leads us back to free will versus determinism. God created us with free will, meaning that the conscious expression that is us shares a creative conscious expression.
This is why our thoughts and words are just as much an equal part of prayer as sacramental and devotional practice. Again, I like devotional practice, because it points to the higher function that is prayer.
There is a great devotional book written by Brother Lawrence, a Catholic monk who talks about this in greater detail. He expressed the value in maintaining conscious contact with God at all times. It is also clear that many of the biblical writers understood this as well. There are verses that say, “pray without ceasing,” and, “take every thought captive in obedience to Christ.”
This does not mean we must all become monks, because that simply isn’t practical. It does mean however recognizing our thoughts and words at all times, and understanding that in every moment we have a choice
