Until My Time Comes, I’ll Dutifully Work My Shift
We come into this earthly existence to complete a task. This involves doing a job of some sort, which can be as basic as raising a family, establishing a corporation, or simply working in the fast food industry.
Some of us are extremely fortunate to know early on where our energy is best suited and how to meet our passion. Others may struggle for some time, until they find their own individual niche. But there are also those who never feel they have found their life purpose. Some do not even know what that seeking is all about.
Whichever way we go about it, all of these scenarios are all part of our unique spiritual paths and even though it may seem as if we are floundering at times, and wavering on our soul’s journey, this is still all part of the plan.
The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Both my daughter and I were fortunate that we knew intuitively that our work involved the metaphysical realm. We soon learned, as difficult as it was at times, that this was the world we belonged in and best suited our characters.
There were many times when I was in complete befuddlement, and speculated and fretted about where I belonged. My path involved so many twists and turns, and many times I felt so lost and confused that where I was could not possibly be the right place. As it turned out, each deviation and movement was exactly what needed to happen.
I look at my work now as doing my ‘shift’ – just like I would do a nine-to-five in a mainstream day job. I work within those same parameters. The exciting part of working your ‘shift’ is the people you interact with along the way. Some become lifelong friends, while others take a complete dislike to you.
The haters, enemies and rivals are actually my favorites. Yes, the individuals we have the most aversion to are the ones that can teach us the most about ourselves. When we have a negative reaction to someone, it is usually because they are reflecting a negative vibration hat we are operating from ourselves. Once we understand what that vibration is, and what it means to us, the person is no longer a threat… and often completely disappears from our life picture.
The time frame for our ‘shift’ is also of great value. My daughter had to leave this plane first, as soon as her shift was over. I did not understand this at first. As a parent we expect we will not depart from this lifetime before our children, so it behooves us to get as much information as possible to help with the loss of those who have to leave before us.
The path to our destination is not always a straight one. We go down the wrong road, we get lost, we turn back. Maybe it doesn’t matter which road we embark on. Maybe what matters is that we embark ~ Barbara Hall
She did what she came here to complete, with all the mighty forces of her heart and soul, and the power source that was behind her. For reasons pertinent to her, she could never warm up to this existence and our fervent hope is that she is now in a toasty, warm place, enjoying the light and basking in the glow of being back with her soul group.
I have been shown, without question, that I have been working my shift, whether or not I was aware of it, or knew I was completing my task. My spiritual journey, which is a separate situation from my soul purpose, was set up in a totally linear fashion and it did surprise me to learn that this was what it was all about – coming here to learn be a part of others lives.
I may never know the impact I have on others, but my desire is that I would leave each person whose path I cross with a positive feeling, at least. Part of the joy is in the seeking and the reward is in the completing. Until my time is up, I will dutifully work my shift. And when that shift is over, hopefully I will leave in a state of bliss for a task well done.
