True Friends Encourage Each Other’s Gifts
I have aways had an extraordinary spiritual connection with a particular friend. Many of our shared experiences over the years illustrate the strength and importance of this connection. We are always on a bit of a “mystical high” when we spend time together!
I knew she was psychic from the first time we met, but she is seldom very eager to talk about it. I suspect she feels a little insecure about it or even afraid of her own power.
Then I had a dream. The angels showed me in this dream that it was time for my friend to embrace her psychic abilities, and that it had now become my responsibility to ensure that she was prepared for this journey of psychic awakening and self-discovery.
A memorable trip to New York City during the recent holiday season provided the ideal opportunity to inspire her and build her confidence.
She lives in the New York area while I live in Arizona, so we do not see each other very often. Over the holidays, I took a short vacation to visit her. Our plans included a trip to the city to see a play, which was great, but not the most magical part of the trip.
The day we arrived in the city, we went to this holiday fair near our hotel to kill time, before going to dinner and the play. As soon as we got out of the cab, the magic started. Amazing things happened everywhere we went. Her birthday was coming up and I wanted to get her something special. I ended up buying her the perfect pearl ring, which she loves.
Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born ~ Anais Nin
Most importantly, the kindness and caring of every vendor at the fair was almost otherworldly. It was as if a light was shining down on us at every booth, and there was a sense of enchantment in the air. A notable moment involved selecting crystals and stones together, as well as finding a deck of oracle cards for her to begin practicing with. This culminated later in a social gathering of women at her home where she did her first readings for friends!
The best moment was when we both got a tarot reading from one of the vendors at the fair. The reader laid out the spread for my friend and without hesitation looked up and told her that she was gifted and that it was time for her to embrace her psychic abilities to be of service to others.
I was tempted to interject, but decided to be gracious and say nothing. However, I could not resist giving her a teasing look as we walked away, as if to say, “I told you so!” This ‘chance’ experience really opened the door for her to move forward on her psychic development journey.
Over the years, I have heard many stories of friends, relatives and coworkers, as well as professional psychics who have somehow helped to open the door for someone else to awaken to their gifts or pursue their calling. I feel very honored to be able to offer this kind of support to my dear friend. Our friendship seems destined for this purpose.
I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship ~ Brené Brown
Encouraging the people in our lives to embrace their gifts is an important part of being a true friend. Sometimes a person we know may not recognize the value of their talents or may not understand the positive impact they can have. It is our spiritual duty to inspire others to embrace their gifts. Encouraging friends to embrace their talents leads to positive contributions to society because they can have a meaningful impact in the world.
When someone recognizes and encourages our abilities, our self-confidence increases significantly. We are more likely to feel competent and capable, which has a positive impact on our self-esteem. When friends feel supported in pursuing their passions, it also strengthens the bonds of friendship and creates a positive, uplifting community.
Some people feel threatened by the talents and potential success of others due to feelings of inadequacy. Encouraging the talents of others triggers their own insecurities, making it difficult for them to provide support. Sometimes they fear that their own shortcomings will somehow be highlighted or overshadowed. Some also worry that encouraging others to pursue their gifts will diminish their own chances of success.
Unfortunately, having a competitive or envious mindset will not attract more success or prosperity for oneself because it is based on the resistant energies of lack and scarcity. We cannot attract to ourselves what we do not wish for others. Encourage your friends to go after their goals and dreams. You have absolutely nothing to lose, but they might without your support.
