The Transmutation Power of Crystals and Stones

The beneficial powers of gemstones and crystals is well-known in the psychic and metaphysical community. Many of us use them in our daily spiritual work. One of the most amazing things crystals and stones do for us is to transmute energy, that is to say, change negative energies into powerful healing.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the more popular crystals and stones and their individual energy properties. Remember, if you choose to use any of these crystals in your daily practice, their energies can be combined, depending on your individual needs.

Rose Quartz

Shades of pink, milky or opaque

Represents the planet Venus, and the signs of Taurus and Libra.

Not surprisingly, given its connection to Venus, this stone contains energies of universal and healing love. Many practitioners use it to increase levels of compassion for others, or before and after a session for grounding.

Rose quartz will help us to rid ourselves of fear, anger, jealously, or aggressiveness. It can also help us in a journey to let go of loved ones we have lost.

Black Tourmaline

Striated or smooth black quartz

Represents the Sun, and the signs of Sagittarius and Capricorn.

Known since ancient times for its powerful energies, tourmaline is a stone of protection against psychic intruders. It can help protect us from unwanted ‘energy vampires’ by transforming energies to lighter vibrations.

Its black color is the sum total of all the colors in the spectrum together. It is commonly worn or carried on the left side of the body (receiving side).

Citrine

Translucent shades of yellow and orange

Represents the planet Jupiter, and the signs of Aries, Libra, Gemini, and Leo.

Also called the “Light Maker,” its sunny color changes dark energies into positivity and creativity. When we are stuck in a thought pattern, or unable to finish a project, citrine is a go-to stone.

Its brightness clears away negativity deep within we didn’t even know we carried. It can also be used as protection against negative spirits.

Moldavite

Varied shades of dark green

Represents the planet Uranus, and the signs of Taurus and Scorpio.

Born from a meteor’s collision with Earth, millions of years ago, it’s no accident that moldavite is a transformative power stone. It helps point us in the direction of our true destiny while helping overcome impediments and obstacles.

It is also known for its ability to amplify the effects of other crystals and for helping us better connect with spirit guides.

Amethyst

Translucent, shades of violet

Represents the planet Jupiter, and the signs of Virgo, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.

Among the most spiritual stones, amethyst is well-known for its ability to provide peace and tranquility. With its high vibrational properties, it can open the third eye and stimulate the crown chakra, increasing our psychic ability.

It will help dispel feelings of sadness and anger as we engage in our practice.

Selenite

Translucent milky white (can be other colors)

Represents the Moon, and the sign of Cancer

Like moonlight, selenite offers a powerful healing energy, as well as good luck and protection. It is also well-renowned for increasing mental acuity as we practice.

Like the watery energy it represents, it is sometimes called “Liquid Light” and will help cleanse negative energies, especially in deep meditation and healing practices.

Kyanite

Varied shades of blue, grey, and green

Represents the signs of Aries, Taurus, and Libra.

Kyanite is best known for its properties of communication: to help us better understand the truth, to break down toxic behaviors, and to learn how to better commune with the spirit realms.

It can also be used to help align chakras and to ground energies as we begin more difficult work.
