Changed Life Is A Mission Accomplished

click here to get a free psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comFrom time to time a client will ask me how I manage to stay focused when people so frequently seek the same advice over and over. “I don’t know how you put up with me,” they might say.

Well, in all honestly, I don’t feel I am ‘putting up’ with them at all. On the contrary, I feel honored that they feel safe enough to share their concerns with me. If it’s important to them… then it’s important.

What does concern me, however, is that I will be able to offer them some helpful direction and healing during a time which must feel to them like they are in a dark pit of hopelessness, or that the rug has been pulled from under them. They are often in shock over an incident, usually connected to a relationship or a career. But there always is an answer, or a solution.

Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it ~ Tori Amos

As psychics, we aim to help people see the light at the end of the tunnel, and to offer them some tools to get through that tunnel. In our line of work we do encounter some upsetting experiences. With time and experience, however, we learn to handle whatever comes our way without being overly affected.

Over the years, I have developed the ability to section off a part of myself, in order not to take on board the heartache and worry, not to mention the physical pain, of my clients. I would not be able to cope if I did. This does not mean that I do not care. I once knew an excellent psychic, and one day she said to me that she had become “sick and tired” of hearing about people’s lives. Needless to say, she soon went on to do other work.

I do think of my clients from time to time, between their readings, and feel this is Spirit’s way of telling me that perhaps they are going through a tough patch. Very often it turns out that they are about to call. It is quite uncanny when they often call right after that thought popped into my head!

I recall, in both healing and reading sessions, feeling profoundly affected by clients in the past. Initially, I tended to take on board people’s problems, and in one particular case, in the beginning of my healing and psychic career, I found myself in a deep-seated state of depression after doing a reading and a reflexology treatment on a lovely, but extremely negative lady. Chances are, yes, I had forgotten to do psychic protection on myself properly, not to mention failing to adhere to the ‘keeping well-hydrated’ guidelines.

In aromatherapy and reflexology sessions, I always pride myself on being well-groomed, in order to give a professional appearance in my pristine white gear. During my training, I had been cautioned there might be those clients who try to overstep the boundaries and turn it into something of a sexual nature. I found myself embarrassed and angry on those few occasions this did happen.

However, I soon learned to tell those individuals to leave my healing space, and eventually built up my own serious customer base. I guess there was a lesson in that, in learning to stand up for what I had studied really hard to accomplish.

In hindsight, the very intense healing sessions came later on in my healing career. In one reflexology session, a young woman unexpectedly shifted from being totally relaxed to completely hysterical. She later confessed she’d been bottling up personal pain ever since she could remember. I guess I must have pushed the right button on her feet to let it all come out!

I just want to live in a way that either wakes people up or shakes people up. Whether I have opened a wound or opened a heart, I have touched a life and helped bring a change ~ Nikki Rowe

There were also profound, memorable moments in some of my healing balance sessions. I had two customers in particular who were brave enough to want to release their accumulated years of pain, and it literally felt like there was an exorcism going on in my healing room! They shook and shuddered and so did the plinth they were lying on.

One lady had been through a physically abusive marriage, followed by a heart-breaking relationship, after which she hadn’t really been given closure as to what went wrong. The other lady in question was always tied up in the house when her parents went out. Her mother had a hatred for her. The servants would abuse and rape her from the age of nine. She subsequently had an emotionally abusive marriage during which her husband would use her past as a weapon, whenever they had a disagreement. She had been in therapy for years and said the healing balance had helped her more than anything else. This was likely so, because she was truly ready to release and getting ready to be loved. And guess what… after kissing several frogs, she finally did meet her special mate!

For practical reasons, I have stopped those one-on-one healing sessions after relocating to another country four years ago. Now I only do distant healings.

As for myself, despite invoking protection from Spirit and preparing for healing and reading sessions, there are times when I feel disconnected to the source of my being. When this happens, I tend to refer to my favorite authors and any inspirational notes I have gathered over the years. I will take an inspirational book to bed, ask for some guidance and randomly open the book and, voila, I always get some response, even if it isn’t quite the response I had expected.

When a customer tells me I “changed their life,” it is mission accomplished for me. However any credit is not due to me. The full credit belongs to the client for being open to that change, and also for being ready to accept Spirit’s help. And kudos to our Spirit helpers who were there to help all along… we just had to ask.
