The Law of Uniqueness

Yes, you really are one of a kind. From your DNA to your personality traits, individual experiences and life skills, they are all unique to yourself. To develop understanding and empathy for other individuals, this law requires us to recognize their special uniqueness.

The above said, you, me and everyone else on the planet is made from the very same ingredients, i.e. sulphur, iron and carbon, and so on, which the stars themselves also consist of.  Therefore, we are all star material in our own right!

The Law of Stillness

Each day we need to take some ‘me time’ away from our regular routine. This allows us to become more reflective and connect with our higher selves, which will inspire us, help us to review things and become uplifted and rested at the same time.

If we do not allow some time for quiet contemplation, we can become stressed, overly preoccupied with other things and so really miss out on what is the most important to us. Therefore, allowing ourselves some quiet space for just 20 minutes per day to simply be can be so beneficial.

The Law of Health

We only have one body and we really must take care of it. However, while physical health is imperative, so is emotional and mental well-being and adopting a positive attitude. Having respect towards others and investing time and effort to nurture our relationships can all contribute to this end.

Why not endeavor to see meaning and beauty in everyday ordinariness? Remember also that the biggest healing and biggest blessing that we can receive from and give to our fellow man is love itself. Extending gratitude, kindness and joy to others should nurture our spiritual health greatly.

The Law of Values

If we did not live a life that was responsible, honest, patient, kind, loving, generous, calm, disciplined and compassionate, our relationships would break down and the society in which we live would become an incredibly uncaring one. However, a small act of kindness carried out on a daily basis can make the world a much nicer place, both for ourselves and those we share it with.

The Law of Respect

Let’s face it, we are all going to have some hard times in life, like illness, accident, redundancy, bereavement, rejection and so on. While the emotions associated with these experiences are common to all of us, so are laughter, elation and celebration.  Furthermore, all our feelings will differ over time.

For example, the person who annoyed us on Monday may become of assistance to us on Friday. You never know, they may even become a good friend in the future. However, whatsoever our fellow man (or woman) may be experiencing and how they are reacting to that experience, we must always show them the utmost of respect.

The Law of Power

Throughout the course of our lifetimes, we will all wield power on numerous occasions. It is what we do with that power, however, that counts. If we are wise, we will use our power to be open to both learning and listening and never to rise to the temptation of overriding someone else who may be in a weaker place.

In simple terms, the correct use of power is about helping, not harming, giving instead of taking, as well as guiding, assisting, supporting, teaching and inspiring. Also, to be the very best that we can be, we need to encourage our fellow man to give both us and themselves, the very best of themselves.

Recognizing the potential power other people may have over us and not allowing them to abuse it, is also most necessary as power is about empowerment and not allowing ourselves to become a victim of someone else’s poor and inappropriate use of it.

The Law of Energy

Energy is the very fuel from which all life is created, however, balance is very much required when it comes to using it. For example, we need to strike the right balance between work and play, experiencing abandonment and being responsible. The list goes on.

Fortunately, there are numerous ways we can contribute to creating positive energy, which include carrying out caring acts, being considerate to other people and their needs, and offering our help and services, with no desire for reward in any shape or form, to our fellow man, when needed.
