Intuition, Psychic Ability And Mediumship
Throughout time mankind has explored the ability to communicate with the gods, with nature, or with each other on a non-verbal level. It is extremely common for us to use the term intuitive. these days. It is often the explanation given by many an entrepreneur or successful decision-maker: “I just trusted my gut,” or “What I love about Mary is she is just so intuitive and makes the right decisions.”
The term psychic on the other hand, although nowadays often well known within a household, conjures up for so many outside the metaphysical community feelings of distrust, fake, absurd, not possible. Perhaps these attributes are attached because of our personal belief system that does not value or agree with the skill set. This also can impact our personal relationships if we know it is real and others judge us since we may then hide our abilities as being psychic and connected with the unseen realm or worse shut down and not continue developing them.
Become a good noticer. Pay attention to the feelings, hunches, and intuitions that flood your life each day. If you do, you will see that premonitions are not rare, but a natural part of our lives ~ Larry Dossey
A definition for intuitive is having the ability to know or understand things without any proof or evidence; having or characterized by intuition; based on or agreeing with what is known or understood without any proof or evidence; known or understood by intuition; agreeing with what seems naturally right.
A definition for psychic is of, or relating to the psyche (psychogenic); lying outside the sphere of physical science or knowledge; immaterial, moral, or spiritual in origin or force; sensitive to nonphysical or supernatural forces and influences; marked by extraordinary or mysterious sensitivity, perception, or understanding
The Wikipedia definition for psychic is that the word is derived from the Greek word psychikos (of the mind, or mental) and refers in part to the human mind or psyche, for example ‘psychic turmoil.’ This Greek word also means ‘soul.’
A definition for medium is of, relating to, or having the qualities of a spiritualist medium – an individual held to be a channel of communication between the earthly world and a world of spirits.
I suggest to you that the same mechanics are involved in intuition as in psychic ability and mediumship. It is information that we obtain or become aware of from a realm unseen. It is access to information for which there appears to be no proof or evidence in the moment of its source, but is valuable and worth taking notice of.
When we study quanta and the universal laws of nature, we are now, with the help of advances in science and technology, able to quantify much more of how nature and the physical body communicates, and how nature and our body heals and grows (bio-energetics).
Our movies and obsession with Sci-Fi and the paranormal is perhaps just a means to having us open up our minds to so much more possibilities to life?
Why do we not accept ESP as a psychological fact? Rhine has offered enough evidence to have convinced us on almost any other issue… Rhine may still turn out to be right, improbable as I think that is, and my own rejection of his view is – in the literal sense – prejudice ~ Donald O. Hebb
Extra-sensory perception (ESP) is the term used in the early days by Dr J B Rhine and his wife Louisa at Duke University, and other researchers in Parapsychology. Experiments were done with Zener cards to determine if there ESP, clairvoyance and such related phenomena actually exist. The data collected on levels of accuracy pointed to it being beyond chance. Some individuals, however, seemed more attuned than others.
You should make your own decision on this matter, but I do suggest you explore how science is changing, and in addition, reflect back upon your life experiences. The challenge one can have in accepting whether intuition and psychic mediumship is real, is that our mind, our memories, our education triggers the ego to dispel the probability and possibility of these events, dependent upon our circumstances and emotional attachment to the event. By this I mean that we can easily accept intuition being real, we can even accept that our loved ones who have physically died are watching over us and that we can feel their presence every day. Yet, many, if asked as to whether they believe in psychics or mediums, and their ability to communicate with the dead, would respond with an adamant no.
So, one’s ego has now come to a conclusion that your belief in the Divine Source allows you to know that your deceased friends and family members are with you, but your ego also rejects the same mechanics that give you that personal knowing of the ability for others to communicate with your loved one. If deceased family are around you, watching and supporting you, then why would they not also communicate with you? Well, they do.
Throughout history there has been the inability among scientists to scientifically ‘prove’ paranormal phenomena. Yet, the unseen realm has been consulted by seers, prophets, soothsayers, and oracles for millennia, to comfort or assist mankind in decision making.
My experiences (and yours) have shown that the phenomena is real but it comes with its perceived ‘handicaps.’ Often the information can be too subjective, because the client interjects their story with data. We sometimes inadvertently fish for information, but a good communicator can still say focused and get absolutely pertinent answers.
Quantum physics findings show that consciousness itself created order – or indeed in some way created the world – this suggested much more capacity in the human being than was currently understood ~ Lynne McTaggar
Psychic information also involves reading the energy in the environment, the energy of the client and a more symbolic representation of information. It is also dynamic and changing. After more than 20 years working within the metaphysical realm as a professional medium, I have found that with practice, diligence and learning I can be of service by understanding natural law and energy.
Developing psychic ability is a wonderful tool on your personal spiritual path. If so inclined, I suggest you explore more intensive development, such that you can become a medium. A psychic medium has the capability to obtain information such as form of death, personality characteristics, family memories, ancestral lineage and have loved ones pass on information to those still living.
The primary benefit of psychic development is learning to trust those random thoughts or feelings that are given us daily, when we are trying to find a solution to a problem, or when we are in a time of distress asking for help. Waking up in the morning and suddenly having your answer, your next patent solution, your confidence in self, that you have the answers within, is deeply empowering. You also become more connected with your environment and enjoy more peaceful times by accessing the Universal Energy, or Universal Mind.
If you wish to become a psychic or medium, you simply take the intuitive skills forward to access data and information upon request from the environment with intention. Psychic mediums are individuals who have chosen to develop these skills to serve individuals who are in a place of grief of the loss of a family member or friend. Of course many also have ancestry and genetic connection to these skills and we became aware at a young age of our ability. However, some may have had the skill suppressed as a child and they are re awakening to the skills.
The greatest gift that can be given by a medium is to provide details of the deceased to confirm the continuity of life, and consciousness. It shows that deceased loved ones are still around the individual. Enjoy your journey and utilize your own psychic abilities, or consult with others you value and trust to utilize the spirit realm as an additional resource.
