A Message To Those Who’ve Lost Their Light

The other night, before going to bed, I quietly spoke to my deceased grandfather. I asked him to help me find the right words. Something to bring hope and comfort to so many of my clients who’ve been feeling lost, weighed down, or tired of carrying their pain.

I asked him, “Please, Grandpa, show me what to say. Help me give them what their hearts need most.”

That night, I dreamed. But it wasn’t just a dream. It was a visitation. The air around me grew still and was filled with a golden glow that felt like peace and love. From that light, my grandfather appeared.

He didn’t look the way I remembered him from his later years, but he looked strong, bright, and full of calm energy. His eyes held the same gentle understanding he always had, but it was deeper, almost eternal.

He smiled and said softly, “I heard you.  I’m here.”

Then he said, “If there’s a dream or passion that still burns inside you, don’t let it fade. That spark within you was placed there by something greater than yourself. Even when the world feels dark, your light hasn’t gone out. It’s only waiting for you to rise again.”

He looked at me, and I could feel the weight of his words, as if they were wrapped in love.

“Don’t let anyone steal your sparkle,” he said. “There will always be voices that doubt you or make you question your worth, but their disbelief can’t touch what’s divine within you. The light in your spirit is stronger than their shadows.”

Hope can be a powerful force. Maybe there’s no actual magic in it, but when you know what you hope for most and hold it like a light within you, you can make things happen, almost like magic. ~ Laini Taylor

Then, his voice grew soft and steady. “Tell everyone who wants to listen that falling down is not failure. Everyone falls. Everyone fails. But you are never meant to stay down. Don’t let sadness paralyze you. Get up! Taking even one small step back toward the light is enough to start the healing process.”

He paused, and I could feel him reaching through me and speaking not just to me but through me. “There are people who will drop poison with their words,” he said. “They might not mean to cause harm, but their pain spills out as judgment. Remind the ones who have been wronged that those words are not the truth. The truth lives inside them, in their spirit, in their quiet knowing, in the place that whispers, ‘Keep going.'”

Then, as his light began to pull back, he gave one final message, the one he asked me to share most clearly: “Tell them they are not broken. Tell them they are stronger than they think. Tell them the light they were born with still burns, no matter how long they’ve been in the dark.”

When I woke up, I could still feel his presence: calm, steady, and loving. I had been given the answer to my prayer.

So, to all my clients and anyone reading this who feels the weight of the world has dimmed their glow, his message is for you too, courtesy of my Grandpa: You are not lost. You are not forgotten, and your light is still there, waiting for you to rise. From the other side, our ancestors and loved ones are whispering, “Get back up.” Shine again.” You were never meant to stay down.”
