Electricity As A Conduit For Paranormal Activity

My friend pointed out something rather interesting the other day, as we made the long drive once again to the spiritualist center we go to some Sundays when one of our favorite mediums is on the platform to do readings.

When we drive there, the radio is never on because we talk so much. This time she noticed that the car radio always tends to come on suddenly and several times during our drive to the center, but never on the way back?

This was not a big surprise to me because when I drive alone I often ask spirit for a sign of their presence. One of the signs I often receive is indeed the car radio coming on by itself.

What is more interesting is that it is always on a different frequency or channel than before, without having been adjusted. And sometimes the channel that spirit chooses is certainly not one that I would normally select.

For example, several times before a local breakfast show came on with a host who had a very high-pitched voice and talked non-stop! When such an annoying station comes on, I know it is a particular loved one in spirit who had a wicked sense of humor in life.

My friend and I then figured out that the radio that often comes on while we drive there must be some of our loved ones letting us know that they are coming with us to the service to help raise the vibration, along with the loved ones of other attendees who are all hoping to hear a message at the gathering.

At times the spiritual energy in the venue is incredible and also very emotional. I recently even heard someone describe it as “electrifying.”

Interestingly, electricity is actually a very common way our loved ones make their presence known through disturbances such as flickering lights, appliances turning on and off by themselves, unexplained radio or television signals, and malfunctioning digital devices.

Experts disagree as to why this is such a common form of spirit communication and conduit for paranormal activity. Some say that spirits are able to manipulate the electromagnetic fields (EMFs) that surround electrical devices and can use these energy fields to cause interference and communicate with us. Others believe that spirit energy simply has an affinity for electrical energy and that their presence can cause interference simply by them being nearby.

This phenomenon has fascinated mankind since the discovery of electricity. For example, there are many famous horror movies that feature haunted electronic devices, such as the deranged artificial intelligence (AI) supercomputer in Demon Seed (1977), the satanic videocasette recorder in Night Vision (1987), and the evil pulse of electricity in The Pulse (1988) that moves from house to house and terrorizes the inhabitants by taking control of their appliances.

Perhaps the most famous is Poltergeist (1982). In this movie, a family’s home is invaded by demonic entities who can manipulate objects in the physical world. The television set becomes a focal point of the poltergeist activity as it is used to display frightening images and messages.

When I was about ten years old, my family lived in a suburb of London, England. Shortly after my grandfather’s funeral, several of my father’s relatives came to visit.

There must have been at least eight or nine family members gathered in the kitchen that night, talking about the good old days, when suddenly there was a rather loud bang. I heard the same kind of explosive bang many years later when my laptop was struck by lightning.

Naturally, everyone in the room jumped. And then, for about ten minutes, all the lights on the lower level of the house went out, and the lights on the upper level flickered on and off. My father had the electrical system checked the next day, but no fault was found.
