Sometimes a psychic or spiritual advisor can bring a client additional anguish in their lives by encouraging them to focus on a fearful occurrence which could happen, rather than encouraging the person to be vigilant at particular times or steps they can take to go in a more positive direction.
I recently witnessed a typical example of additional fear being created for a customer when a lady who came to me with her daughter for a private mediumship sitting. The girl’s father committed suicide two weeks before. Although we did manage to get some closure for them from the reading, as well as actual messages from the deceased, they were both still very anxious, because of what their priest had communicated to them almost immediately after the deceased took his life.
Fear is the main source of superstition, and one of the main sources of cruelty. To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom ~ Bertrand Russell
The priest in question had performed the customary rituals at their home, and later told them that in his meditation the deceased came to him and was angry with the wife, and couldn’t rest. The priest, who lives in a luxury home with armed guards, told them another ritual should be performed at their home, but that he feared the husband, in his enraged state, would want to claim another family member’s life.
The mother was beside herself at this prediction. Unfortunately, a fear seed had been planted, which I hope, with time, will not germinate.
I once read that “fear” is an acronym for “false evidence appearing real”. I had no evidence in my reading that the deceased loved one of those grieving clients was angry or agitated. When I told them it was their prayers and love that helped him move on to spirit, it gave them a certain amount of inner peace. The deceased also had some messages for them which were evidence for them that he had moved on peacefully.
Our brains don’t differentiate between reality and imagination, so any images we create in our mind is accepted by the brain as being the real thing. Meanings and emotions will be attached to those images, which create an actual physiological effect. The physiological effect of our fear has been shown to be responsible for a myriad of illnesses, such as autoimmune disorders.
If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment ~ Marcus Aurelius
When we relive past experiences by living in the past, history tends to repeat itself. When our thoughts are focused on the future and we expect the worst based on our past experiences, we tend to create a self-fulfilling prophecy.
We can take a significant amount of pressure off ourselves if we let go of stuff we have zero control over. Here is a short recipe to help you to eliminate your unfounded fears:
1. Focus only on things that you desire.
2. Acknowledge the positive aspects of yourself and count your blessings, however small.
3. Focus only on things you actually have control over.
4. Sometimes erasing the fear thoughts takes a little while, so don’t give up. Those fear thoughts have taken a lot of time and cultivating to take hold.
5. Be conscious of what you are doing right now. Keep pulling your focus back to this moment.
