What Happens When We Cross Over?

As a psychic medium I am sometimes asked what it it is like when we cross over. In my experience doing thousands of readings over the years, people seem to have very similar death experiences.

The dying person often sees their own body below them, as if they are floating above it. They can often hear medical personnel trying to save them. There is a complete detachment from their body.

They can also see their loved ones in the room. So, even if you’re loved one is in a coma, or appears to not know you are there, please know that they do. They see the flowers you bring and see you holding their hand. It comforts them. They will feel the love you are giving them.

I have also had cases of them hearing what people were saying about them who while they were in a different location, even another country. Our energy is like air. It can move through anything and can be in several places at once. We are pure consciousness.

After the out-of-body experience, there is often a tunnel that they move through with a bright light at the end. This light is incredibly appealing. People feel compelled and pulled toward this light. They often also feel others present with them. Loved ones, ancestors, guides, angels, God. Their feelings of love, calm, peace and bliss is overwhelming and indescribable.

Once through the tunnel, they are greeted and welcomed by loved ones and guides. Even animals that have crossed will often be there. So, know that you will be reunited with your beloved pet!

If the passing was sudden or traumatic, they are cocooned. They are surrounded by a shield of light and love to help them heal and gradually adjust to the transition.

Once the soul has adjusted, they begin a life review. Their guides help them look back over their entire life, as if watching a movie on a screen. Anytime the soul has hurt another, not faced fear, lied, committed a crime, they actually can feel the pain and disappointment they caused others.

They are reminded that we are one. If we hurt another, we will feel their pain as our own. It is only in the illusion of separateness of this physical life that we don’t always feel sufficient  empathy for others, which is the reason we hurt each other – sometimes without realizing the pain we may be inflicting.

During the life review we will study our life. Just like you would study a college course. How could we have handled this better? Why did we make that decision? How have we overcome fears and lack of self-belief? How many times did we create love and kindness? How charitable and generous were you when you had plenty. We also feel the love we gave to others.

We see things very differently. Suddenly, the perfect body, wealth, status, fame, and power is seen for the illusion it truly is. Imagine being in a state where all these superficial human obsessions have been completely removed from the equation! Well, we need not wait until we die to experience this – all of it can be removed from our thought patterns and daily focus by how we choose to live and be in the world.

After the life review, the soul enters its soul circle. Our soul circle or soul family is the group of souls we learn, grow and evolve with by reincarnating with them, again and again, from one lifetime to the next. They have been your mother, father, lover, child, teacher, enemy, tenant, landlord, employer, employee, and neighbor. They may also have committed crimes against you in past lives.

Time does not exist here. Everything is happening at the same time. All our lives are happening at once. We are just focusing on this one moment at this time. It’s like television. All channels are playing at the same time. However, you can only watch one channel at a time.

When this process is complete, there is then a new desire for the soul to return to the earth or another plane of existence to have another go and do it even better, by hopefully remembering this time around that in this life and the next only thing truly matters. Love.
