Charity – A Message From My Guides

Click here for a free psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comCharity does begin at home. Whether you think of charity as alms for the impoverished, or kindness to strangers, or perhaps non-judgment in times of questionable behavior by others, it is still imperative to look within first. Before you can be truly charitable to others, it is important to be kind to yourself first. Ultimately, you cannot give to others freely and easily that which you do not give to yourself.

You are a loving and giving being. However, sometimes you are your own worst critic and have nothing but fault to find when you come up short regarding lofty expectations of yourself.

Sometimes you have set this bar so high that you are incapable of reaching the goals within your estimated timeline. Sometimes life intervenes in your best laid plans and deadlines are missed. Sometimes you self-sabotage from fear of success, or failure. Each of these instances can cause undue stress, which is not only harmful to you, but also to the people in your circle.

Go out and lead the world; but never forget to begin by leading yourself first at home. You can’t lead the environment if you can’t lead yourself in it ~ Israelmore Ayivor

So, think charity. Be kind to yourself. There will always be stresses that abound and they are not necessarily of your own making, nor within your control. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

Think flexibility. Give yourself a break. Look for alternative timelines or processes instead of berating yourself.

Think tolerance. Regardless of how hard you try, there will be times when you slip into bad habits. Give yourself another chance to turn things around.

Think love. Be happy with your lot in life. Strive to improve, as you like, but surround yourself with love and acknowledgement for all the effort you have given so far. It is okay to love yourself first. Actually, it is imperative. Only then can you venture forward with unfettered charity for others.

When you are content with the strong foundation and sense of balance that you have started to build in your own life, then you can expand. Go the extra mile. Donate the extra funds. Feed the extra mouths. Spend the extra time. You will be bursting with excitement over the positive contributions you can make for others and you will not feel depleted when doing so.

Visualize the ultimate impact you would like to have. Whether you focus on a small, specific activity or whether you would like to become a more significant presence in the world – your options are limitless.

Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself ~ Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy

Do your research first. Choose your currency well. Will it be time invested or money donated, or perhaps a combination of both? Do not overload yourself with commitments that you cannot keep. As you grow, the little things add up and will become much bigger success stories.

Meanwhile, you can start immediately by practicing tolerance. Be less judgmental of yourself and your fellow man. Be less harsh when it comes to banal disagreements or criticism. Be more open to seeing both sides of the same coin. Understand that perspective changes everything and everyone has a unique perspective based on previous personal experiences in life.

We realize that this can be challenging, however, often there is no real need to express your opinion at all. Decide to be more tolerant in your heart and more giving of your spirit. Soon you will see little changes in your life and the lives of others around you. Day by day, you will watch successes grow and shift.

Feel the growing warmth and satisfaction of a life well-lived through charity. Notice, too, how often it is returned to you in various forms, from family, friends and strangers alike.

Above all, continue to dream bigger.
