Transmuting The Negative Energy Of Self-Sabotage
In many religions and spiritual wisdom traditions we find guidelines on healing and mind-body wellness. Many of these philosophies, in conjunction with modern medicine, can be a great aid for mind, body and soul. In all spiritual traditions there are usually rules or recommendations aimed at the well-being of society as a whole, as well as each individual soul. Many of these teachings warn us of dangers we might find in our own thought, choices and actions. And if we are unaware or careless, a damaging thought or action can turn into a harmful pattern.
Recognizing a damaging thought or behavior pattern in our lives is not easy. We might realize that someone else makes the same mistakes over and over, but it may be difficult to have the same insight about ourselves. We create the imagined walls of our own limitations, and abide by them, without being aware of making this decision. These limiting, destructive thoughts and actions that appear repeatedly in our lives – especially those demeaning, self-sabotaging, angry thoughts – are in essence negative energy vibrations. A few example of such thoughts can be:
I am useless and incompetent.
I am not strong enough.
Nobody cares about me.
I do not deserve better.
I hate myself.
In the realm of energy healing, negative energy is considered very heavy and dense. There are plenty of techniques that can help break through it, such as meditation, reiki, sound healing, chakra balancing, and working with a trained energy healer who you trust ~ Marci Baron
You get the idea? They are not truthful thoughts, they are an imagined exaggeration. They are a general expression of frustration with ourselves. But the words that label each of them are not important. Instead we must focus on the feelings or energy vibrations they are truly made of. In other words, they are a form of energy that is coming from us. And to be able to change this requires a visualization process of internal alchemy.
To get started with this transmutation, the idea is not to wrestle with the thought or feeling itself, but to just let it be present for a moment. Once you can consider it with a calmer mind, close our eyes and imagine it becoming a small cloud, shaped like a sphere in front of you. Extract every ounce of the thought or feeling fully from your body, and transfer it into the sphere in front of you.
Once it is inside the sphere, and you are no longer feeling it anywhere in your body, place both your hands, palms facing down, over the sphere. Now invoke your higher self or guardian angel, and send a powerful, healing, golden light to it from the palms of your hands. Visualize how the light completely dissolves it, until it also becomes pure, golden light. Now grasp the golden sphere of light with both hands, and bring it closer to your heart. Allow the transmuted energy to re-enter your body, returning to your heart as pure light, power and love.
Negative energy is a toxin to your system. And while you can often endure negativity in your mind and body for prolonged periods (even to the point of it becoming a fundamental trait of your personality), negativity ultimately does you no good ~ Adam Brady
In this process you are not only healing negative energy, but you are bringing new strength to your heart chakra. In Eastern mysticism this chakra is the center of the self and the seat of consciousness, and it also controls the immune system (thymus gland). This is why negative emotions can cause so much damage to our mental and physical health, as they directly impact this chakra, creating an immediate imbalance.
Try this exercise prior to any chakra balancing exercise, as it will leave the energy system in a much better predisposition to find real balance and inner peace. And if it is done at night, it can also make a real difference in your sleep, allowing for much deeper rest.
