Dust In The Wind?
I watched the movie 2012 for the first time… would you guess it… the very day before the first earthquake hit in Japan! I couldn’t believe my eyes, watching on CNN the earth breaking in half just like in the movie. Houses were being washed away and lives taken within a blink of an eye.
For some of us this news came as a shock, but not as a surprise. Many spiritually aware people all over the world had been on edge lately. Just like the animals, we feel it, we have an innate sense that things are a bit ‘off’.
After the news broke, I was feeling the need to do something to help out. I make scarves for children and I figured for every one that I make and sell I could donate half of the profits and send it to a proper cause, that I know will go directly to help in some small way. Every bit does help.
He who has faith has an inward reservoir of courage, hope, confidence, calmness, and assuring trust that all will come out well – even though to the world it may appear to come out most badly ~ B.C. Forbes
I can’t even fathom what those people in Japan must be going through. Very horrific! I pray for them day and night. My family vacationed in that very same spot around the same time last year. What if they were there this year, or what if disaster struck a year earlier? We never know when our life or our loved ones will be taken from us.
I am managing to stay optimistic, but sometimes I begin to wonder if there are enough of us who truly believe that we can put the Earth back on the right path through positive collective consciousness. I do believe we can help bring light to our planet and end all suffering and pain and anger.
Live for today, but hold your hands open to tomorrow. Anticipate the future and its changes with joy. There is a seed of God’s love in every event, every unpleasant situation in which you may find yourself ~ Barbara Johnson
About two days after the first earthquake I was driving in my car, listening to the news on the radio. Believe it or not, but the song that came on was Dust in the Wind. Now, that got me thinking…we are not just ‘dust in the wind’! Maybe our psychical bodies will return to dust, but we are so much more than that. We are soul and spirit, and with that comes our consciousness, our unique personality, our reasoning and the essence of who we really are.
Energy does not die. Energy cannot be destroyed – it just takes on a new shape or form. I know from personal experience that the soul lives on and what a great time to reflect on this. Knowing that something unexpected like a earthquake can come to a city near you, or even your own hometown, brings with it a wake-up call to be thankful, to appreciate all the blessings in our lives. It reminds us of our need for faith and our trust that all will be as it must be, and that all is taken care of on our behalf. Faith is a wonderful thing and it’s free. It’s your free will to embrace it or not. I have no fear, and so can you be without fear. Faith has set me free.
