Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow
A loyal client recently asked me to send her one of the guided meditations in my collection. I have collected many over the years, and she experienced several of them in a meditation class I used to offer. She said she was planning to start a small meditation group of her own, and would be happy with whichever meditation I chose to share with her.
I sincerely wished to help her, and therefore wanted to choose carefully. So, on my walk this morning, along a path lined with olive trees, I asked my guides for a sign or symbol of what script would best help her get going with her guided meditation venture.
Well, Spirit never ceases to surprise me. The ‘sign’ was almost instant, and prominent. Out of nowhere, I suddenly smelled the exquisite scent of the ‘Yesterday Today and Tomorrow’ plant (Brunfelsia). I immediately knew exactly which meditation to send my client.
Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow Meditation
Sit in a comfortable chair and close your eyes. With your eyelids closed, glance upwards for a few moments, directing your eyes towards the heavens. This is helpful in relaxing your eyes and also symbolic in connecting with Spirit.
Now, take several deep breaths and, as you do so, relax your head in a downward position. Allow your eyeballs to relax downwards too, whilst still keeping your eyelids gently closed.
Give me your past, all your pain, all your anger, all your guilt. Release it to me, and I will be a safe harbor for the life you need to leave behind ~ Jewel E. Ann
Imagine yourself sitting in a picturesque garden, enjoying the perfume of your favorite flowers and plants. Perhaps you can smell the fragrance of the Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow plant, if you are familiar with it. Remain here for a while.
Next, in your mind’s eye, glance over to an opening in a woodland area nearby. Your special guide is waiting for you there, in a clearing in the woods. You are going to discuss an issue that has burdened you for some time. This may be any recent issue you wish to bring to your guide to discuss and release right now.
Envision yourself walking into the woodland. Feel and hear the crunching of the leaves beneath your feet. Somewhere ahead, in a clearing, your ‘problem-solving’ guide who has helped you so many times before in this lifetime, is awaiting you.
Finally you reach him, that wise soul who awaits you. You notice he has reserved two places on tree trunks in the clearing for your discussion. He already knows what troubles you, but you must first ask his help by handing him a list of your burdens. These may include loneliness, fear, rejection, worry, anxiety, the struggle to survive. Your list can be as long as you need to be, in order for you to finally offload.

He’s glad you came and eager to show you the lessons you have learned from those burdens, as harsh as they may have been. He asks you to write down the choices you made, which you may be beating yourself up for, and he asks you to ponder how these hard knocks have made you stronger and wiser.
Whatever your regrets are, they belong to yesterday, and your guide asks you to put them all into an urn he is carrying, in order that you no longer struggle to move forward. He reassures you that, on a soul level, you actually chose many unique situations in your life, as well as difficult circumstances, as lessons towards self-mastery. Today you are making peace with your past.
Then, as your burdens disappear into your guide’s celestial urn, you share with him your hopes and goals for the future. He then helps you to write your new goals, and envision your new tomorrows.
When you have completed the process, you thank your guide and make your way back through the clearing, feeling lighter and ready to open your eyes, because you know you are able to re-write tomorrow, today.
