Our Totems And Spirit Animals

Click Here NOW for a FREE psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comIt is my belief that we all have animal spirit guides that guide and support us along our life journey.

Each spirit animal represents a different aspect of life. Some show up when we need their particular energy or receive their symbolic message, while others show up consistently throughout our lifetime. These animals, birds, mammals, reptiles, and even fish, are like our personal totems.

I have three main spirit totems: the eagle, the red tail hawk, and the owl. Each has shown up consistently in my life, especially when there is a time of adversity, grief, or crisis occurring.

I was made of aware of these three totems early in my life, when I consulted with an indigenous elder. He gave me my spiritual name: Soaring Free. I instantly loved my name. It represents the proud eagle that soars on high, the red tail hawk that soars in broad circles high in the air, and the owl that is wise and roams free.

The Eagle

After my parents passed away, I was cleaning their house. Not only was I grieving at the time, I was also very distraught, having to decide whether to sell their home or not. I was not at all sure if it would be the right thing to do.

Then, I asked my angels to give me a sign. Moments later, as I looked down towards the lake, there were two beautiful bald eagles sitting on the edge of a tree branch.

Every time you are touched by your spirit animal—whether you interact with it in real life, see it in a photo, or hear someone else talk about it—you can use it as a reminder of the importance of its unique qualities ~ Emma Mildon

Then suddenly, they took off, flying high up into the open sky. It reminded me that my parents were now free to roam the heavens together and they were no longer attached to earthly things or matters.

Each day after that, whenever I was working at their house, the two eagles were there. I even named them after my parents.

When the time came and an offer was received on the house, the two eagles flew over the house, as if to reassure me that it was all good. After that day, I didn’t see them again for almost a year. But while working on the house, they were there to comfort me every day.

The Hawk

Red tail hawks are my travel companions. Whenever I am driving somewhere, I will always see a red tail hawk. Sometimes, I see them non-stop on my travels.

Whenever I see the hawks sitting on a tree branch or a fence post, I know my drive will be safe and without issues. But when a hawk swoops down in front of me, to really grab my attention, it is always a message to slow down, as there may be danger ahead.

Usually, it is simply a police radar check or something like that. However, one day a hawk swooped down in front of me so suddenly that I feared t I might hit it. I immediately slowed down and then pulled over to the side of the road for a moment, to get my composure back.

Once I got back on track, I discovered just a few miles up the road that a car had missed the ramp coming onto the freeway and rolled out into the middle of the road. It had just happened prior to me arriving on the scene and had I not slowed down, I most likely would have been involved in that accident.

There are several techniques to figuring out your spirit animal is. Pay attention to a specific animal appearing in your dreams or seeing one frequently in the waking world, and think about your past connections with animals ~ Destiny Duprey

The Owl

Oh, how I do love the great gray owl. He is so majestic, with a six foot wingspan. Owl brings wisdom, inner strength and peace, and caution to watch my back in situations that I feel uncertain about. The owl teaches us this, because he can turn his head to a maximum of 270 degrees to see all sides of things.

I have learned from my owl totem not only to watch my back, but also to not be one-sided and narrow-minded in life. Instead, I strive to keep a wise, open mind and always look at all sides, before making a decision.

We all have at least one spirit animal or totem. If you have not identified yours yet, pay more attention and become a little more aware. You may be pleasantly surprised!
