The Old Souls Of The New Children
Since the 1960s, the “New Children” have been arriving on the Earth plane in increasing numbers, bringing with them wisdom, insights, perspectives and innovations that are sorely needed in our rapidly evolving, and currently very troubled world.
The New Children are old souls reincarnated to return to the earthly realm on a special mission — to guide, heal, teach and enlighten; to awaken humanity to a higher level of consciousness.
As more and more of these ancient souls grace our planet with their presence, it is becoming increasingly apparent that they possess a profound understanding of the interconnectedness of all life and the inherent unity that binds us together.
Through their innate wisdom and pure-heartedness, the New Children are converging to transform the collective consciousness of humanity. They are introducing us to a future society where prejudice, discrimination and injustice are relics of the past, replaced by a deep reverence for the inherent dignity and worth of every soul.
The wisdom that this new generation of humans carry is not bound by the limitations of social constructs and dogmatic religion. They challenge us to look beyond the superficial labels of body, gender, race, creed, and nationality, reminding us that these are merely temporary identities that obscure the true essence of who we are. They have a deep understanding that we are all equal and deserving of love, regardless of outward differences.

The New Children are now coming in droves because we increasingly need their help urgently. We need enlightened leaders, scientists, environmentalists, teachers, healers and prophets. In a world plagued by prejudice, division and injustice, the arrival of these wise souls is a beacon of hope for humanity’s collective future. Their presence among us serves as a living reminder that love is the only label that truly matters, transcending boundaries and uniting us in our common humanity. They are here to invite us to embrace inclusivity and acceptance; to celebrate the rich tapestry of diversity that is the human experience.
Who Are The New Children?
The term “New Children” refers to an emerging generation of spiritually evolved human beings who have unique qualities and characteristics that set them apart from previous generations in human history. The Indigo Children were the first wave of spiritually gifted and evolved souls to begin incarnating on Planet Earth since the 1960s and 70s, followed by the Crystal Children in the 80s and 90s, and then the Rainbow Children since the new millennium.
The term “Star Children” is sometimes used as an umbrella term to encompass all three these groups, as well as other spiritually advanced beings believed to be incarnating on Earth at this time. Star children are thought to originate from other planets or star systems and to possess a special mission or purpose in helping humanity evolve to a higher level of consciousness.
Awareness of the New Children first emerged in the spiritual community in the 1970s and was further popularized by Nancy Ann Tappe’s book Understanding Your Life Through Color (1982). Tappe is a psychic synaesthete who noticed that more and more children were being born with a distinct indigo aura. The phenomenon then gained even greater recognition in the late 1990s with the publication of books such as The Indigo Children: The New Kids Have Arrived by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober (1999). This book sparked widespread interest in the idea of Indigo Children as a special generation with unique characteristics and a special purpose.
Since then, the concept has continued to evolve within the alternative spiritual community, and several other prominent books have been published on the phenomenon, including The Care and Feeding of Indigo Children (2001) and The Crystal Children: A Guide to the Newest Generation of Psychic and Sensitive Children (2003) by Doreen Virtue, as well as Parenting the Children of Now: Practicing Health, Spirit, and Awareness to Transcend Generations (2008) by Meg Blackburn Losey and The Crystal Children by Anni Sennov (2010).

Many “New Children” are coming to the Earth plane now because of our increasing need for their guidance and wisdom. Many of these souls have not incarnated in this time-space reality for centuries. They have incarnated in other dimensions and planes of existence. Some have even served as spirit guides and ancestral guardians.

Parenting The New Children
For those of us fortunate enough to raise one of these ancient souls, the journey is nothing short of transformative. While traditional parental roles often assume that adults impart wisdom to their children, in the case of these gifted souls, the dynamic shifts. It becomes a symbiotic relationship where both parent and child are equal learners and teachers.
Raising these children is not without its challenges. It requires an openness of heart and mind, a willingness to let go of preconceived notions and embrace the unknown. It also requires us to cultivate patience, compassion, and understanding as we navigate the complexities of parenthood. But the rewards are immeasurable.
Sadly, many are being prescribed drugs to suppress their intuition, energy, wisdom and defiance. Some struggle with mental health and even commit suicide, often because they are so misunderstood. We need more spiritually aware parents to raise these children, instead of labeling and medicating them and exposing them to harmful radiation and toxic digital technology.
If you are currently raising one of these old souls, know that you can learn as much, if not more, from them as they can learn from you. An Old Soul child enjoys the simple things in life. They prefer nature. Many will demand healthy food and teach us to take better care of our bodies. They will ask us not to argue or get angry while preparing our food, for that vibration will be absorbed into our prepared food and therefore consumed by us when we eat it.
The new children abhor drama and violence. In recent years I have had many parents complain to me that their toddler is lecturing them. I tell them to listen. These old souls cry when an animal is hurt or when they are yelled at or disrespected and teach us to tune back into our empathy. They shock us with their undying bluntness and honesty – teaching us that everything is recorded by the Divine and that there are no secrets.
Many of the New Children are also androgynous in appearance and personality, teaching us that the balance between the divine masculine and feminine is the ideal. They show deep and genuine joy in dance, song, and family time – teaching us that we only age when we stop playing.
Old souls in children’s bodies also want their independence – teaching us not to live vicariously through them and to find our own inner strength. They teach us to respect their independence. They also have a natural uniqueness about them – teaching us not to be afraid of the judgments of others. Ancient souls do not conform to the norm. They are natural rebels and gurus, like Buddha, Christ, Ghandi and Mandela.
Most importantly, the New Kids do not indulge in the prejudices that plague humanity. They teach us that our body, gender, race, creed and nationality are only temporary labels. Not everything needs to be categorized, included, or excluded. All souls fall under only one label: Love. So, when your old soul child tells you, “Hang up the phone, Mommy! Listen. They are radiating pure joy, and they can also inspire you to restore joy in your own heart.
As we increasingly witness the influx of these wise sages and time travelers into our world, let us welcome them with open arms, open hearts, and open minds. Let us learn from them as much as we teach, embracing the timeless wisdom they bring and allowing it to illuminate our path forward. For in their presence we are reminded that divine love is the ultimate truth, and it is through love that we will usher in a brighter, more harmonious world for generations to come.
