Divination Tools 101

Click Here for a FREE psychic reading right now at PsychicAccess.comEvery psychic has a different set of gifts and abilities, and because of this different psychic tools work better for different individuals. Let’s take a closer look at some of the more familiar divination tools used by readers today.

Tarot cards date back to the Renaissance and represent different archetypes and symbols. Each card pictures a specific individual or action, and the cards are used in different layouts, or spreads, to provide insight and meaning. Usually, a specific question is asked, to which the cards help provide an answer.

Angel oracle cards are similar to the Tarot. As the name suggests, each card features a different image of angels and archangels. Angels cards help us to communicate with our spirit guardians, as they look out for us. Each card typically has a short message, which help us figure out what our guardians are trying to say.

Crystals are very popular metaphysical tools. They come in many types and colors, and each has a unique set of properties, For example, rose quartz is used for love energies, and hematite for strength, and so on. No two crystals are alike. They can be used to channel, intensify, deflect, or purify energy sources, depending on an individual’s needs.

Many practitioners have an entire toolkit of just crystals. The crystal ball is often seen in depictions of psychic readings. A crystal ball is used to scry, in order to practice seeing the past, present, and future. They are also useful in finding missing persons or objects.

Always remember the answers come not from the rock, the teacup, the shell, or the cards. The answers come from you ~ Gwendolyn Womack

Pendulums and dowsing is used to look for hidden energy sources or missing people or objects. A pendulum can be as simple as a pendant on a chain. The dowsing rod is more commonly used in the hunt for secret water sources or minerals, but it can also be used to locate energy. A wand or staff is also a powerful channeling tool, and can be customized to your liking.

There are many other divination methods and tools one can add to your psychic tool kit, from Runes and Astrology, to herbs, tea leaves and having an animal familiar as a companion. Remember the line “the wand chooses the wizard” in the Harry Potter films? Well, the same is true of our psychic tools. When you first begin your divination practice, ask the universe and your spirit guides which divination tools suit your personality and energies the best. If you are drawn to a specific crystal or a piece of wood you find in the forest, chances are it was meant for you.

Remember that the Tarot is a great and sacred arcanum – its abuse is an obscenity in the inner and a folly in the outer. It is intended for quite other purposes than to determine when the tall dark man will meet the fair rich widow ~ Jack Parsons

It’s important to respect divination tools and use them responsibly. Many professional practitioners are hesitant to just randomly use them, except in specific or special readings. Just as a seamstress wouldn’t use her best fabric scissors to cut paper, so must diviners be mindful and cautious of how they use a psychic tool. If we handle them with care and respect, they can open up our world to many possibilities.
