We Must Believe In Order To Receive

Get a free psychic reading right now at PsychicAccess.comThere is a school of thought that science and the supernatural are at very opposite ends of the spectrum. Poles apart, so to speak. Nevertheless, there are other schools of thought who disagree with this, myself included. I firmly belief that the application of science, when done correctly, can help us to cosmically attract to ourselves that which we desire and truly deserve. For the purposes of this article, I shall use the subject of Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) as an example.

NLP is a fascinating therapy designed to help people achieve their personal goals, be that weight loss, self-confidence, finding their true life path, or indeed any other desired outcome. This therapy was developed after a study of the work of three outstanding therapists in their particular fields of work. These therapists were Fritz Perls, who developed Gestalt Therapy; Virginia Satir, the pioneer of Family Therapy, and a hypnotherapist known as Milton Erickson.

As long as you believe it is impossible, you will actually never find out if it is possible or not ~  John Seymour

The study entailed observing what it was that actually made these people’s so outstanding in their field. Could their level of success be emulated by other individuals?  From this study it was concluded that whilst these therapists worked in different areas and in different ways, their actual approach and thinking was indeed very similar. Taking the results from this and other studies, NLP was developed and has been taught worldwide, since the 1970’s, to help people in many areas of their lives.

In layman’s terms, NLP looks at how an individual thinks, processes and stores individual thoughts and beliefs, the patterns of language they use, their behaviors, and how all three interact to produce either a positive or indeed negative, effect on the individual.

Interestingly, NLP teaches that the larger part of our behaviors and thoughts stem from our awareness, i.e. the unconscious mind, but uses a wide range of ways and means of working with both the unconscious and conscious minds. It does this in order to determine how a particular set of ideas, beliefs, thoughts and behaviors have been arrived at, and keep us in a certain way of being. Having established this, we then have the knowledge and power to actually reconstruct or alter certain parts of our belief system, thus having the potential to change both ourselves and our futures as a result.

NLP may seem rather complex, but practitioners of it (including myself) have often reported it to be a practical, fun and an incredibly effective means of self-improvement.

NLP is quite a scientific subject, so how then does it link with the spiritual side of things? For me, NLP does so as it can help to change a person’s belief system and empower the individual to cosmically attract their heart’s desires.

In Neuro-Linguistic Programming, we don’t “treat” patients; we give people lessons on how to think and make better choices ~ Richard Bandler

It really doesn’t matter how a person arrives at a particular mind set, be it through NLP, hypnotherapy, subliminal music or some other appropriate means, providing they do arrive at that mind set. For when they do, that is when the “magic” starts to happen! For me this is where science and the supernatural really do come together.

Nevertheless, I hasten to add that NLP should be seen as a therapy in its own right, with its own benefits, and not merely as a means of cosmically attracting what we want. Furthermore, spirit has always taught me that as we live in a practical and very scientific world there is nothing wrong in adopting a scientific or practical approach to achieve anything that would be for the greater good of all. Also, to quote the Bible, “God Helps Those Who Help Themselves” (Hezekiah 6:1).

Would we not be helping ourselves to become better people, better parents, friends, bosses, colleagues, husbands, wives, lovers, if we were all to practice the art of NLP? The answer to that is both yes, and no. NLP, like many other ways of trying to change for the better, is simply not for everyone, as preferences will always differ.

However, I am 100% convinced that whatever form of self-improvement we may choose, be that NLP or some other therapy, providing it is right for us and effectively helps us to believe that we will receive our heart’s desires, that is all that is necessary for it to be effective. Thereafter, the Universe in its wisdom, will play its part in helping us achieve the desired outcome.
