The Hunter’s Moon Brings A New Day

This year we were up on four occasions, watching as the Sun, and the Moon, Lady Moon, were in the sky at the same time. The sun passed over the Moon, turning the Moon and sky blood red… four times in a row. The whole of the purple, darkened sky lighted up as if thousands of fireworks had burst into colors raining down on our spirits with beauty.

The first Blood Moon eclipse in this total series of four happened on April 15, 2014 and the last one happened on October 8, 2014. This special occurrence is known as a lunar tetrad. The next total eclipse will take place on April 4, 2015.

The majesty and wonder of the Hunter’s Moon, the Blood Moon, reminds us of the glories of the universe. With this we see the doors to Other Worlds, the Other Side opening up, allowing the lights to come back in. With this, we can expect great events, wondrous omens of changes to come.

Even in the Old Testament, the Torah, the wonders of this Moon is recorded: “The Sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.” (Joel 2:31). An ancient prophecy reminding us that prophecy has long been accepted in every known faith system to man. As well, as the knowledge that the Moon, the Sun, the planets can reveal omens of change.

The Hunter’s Moon prepared our ancestors for the completion, to bring in the gains, to connect with Mother Earth’s natural rhythms. The Hunter’s Moon is also about resolutions of conflicts, as we remember to Love. Love conquers all. Love heals the wounded. So, as we dance in the early dawning of this day, we ask to love each person spirit sends our way. We may not like them, but we can remember to temper our words with quietness, with gentleness. We ask to have truth, have clarity in our words, our actions, as we greet each person with our energy, our spirit, our light. As each of us have light, we have darkness, we have light. We can choose love.

Today is a winning day. We are going to win today. We are going to see that no matter how down we get, how bad the world or other people try to beat us down, we are as the eagle, flying high over the rocks, the crannies, even the highest tree tops, to reach Father Sol, the Sun. We have become as one with the mighty Great Spirit, who can lead us to the top of the mountain down to the other side, where the river flows easy, filled with milk, with honey, with the sweetness that this Great Universe holds for us.

The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day ~ Acts 2:20

We will not despair, but we will stand strong, looking fear straight in the face, in the depths of eyes with the knowledge that holding on to the hands of Great Spirit, our faith, we will overcome! We have no doubt that we will be winners. We will stand up, lift our chins high, square our shoulders to battle once more the negativity, the hurtful ways that the path seems to take.

This person, this job, this situation has tried to tear us down, convince us that we are not good, that we are worthless, that we don’t matter, that we are not worthy, not perfect enough. Yet, we are here in this new day, this new morning, to move, to stand, to hold tight to our dreams, to fly high with the eagles toward the sky.
