Creating Your Reality – Survivor, Sinner Or Saint?

Get a free psychic reading right now at PsychicAccess.comTo create, attract and manifest is an innate metaphysical ability we all have access to as beings of Divine origin. Jane Roberts writes in The Nature of Personal Reality, “You are given the gifts of the gods; you create your reality according to your beliefs. Yours is the creative energy that makes your world. There are no limitations to the self except those you believe in.”

To be a creator is a function of our free will. We are all co-creators of our shared, physical reality and we shape our own destiny in every single moment of our lives. What you think, feel, believe, wish for, and desire in this very moment, is what you will become tomorrow, and the day after.

In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

In ancient times our ancestors used their innate metaphysical power as spiritual beings to shape, transform and control their physical life experience. The ancients lived in much greater harmony with their Higher Self. They understood the innate cycles of life and they trusted in the flow of Spirit. They lived and breathed in synchronicity with the heartbeat of the planet and the pulse of their spiritual heritage. Sure, they knew hardship and the challenges of earthly survival, but they also knew the joy of love, laughter and connection to the Divine Source. As spiritual beings having a physical life experience, they recognized their innate metaphysical power and they put it to good use.

Unlike our ancestors, modern man has lost the inner awareness of his spiritual gifts and metaphysical potential. In the post-modern era many people create, attract and manifest the basic things they need in their lives without ever becoming aware that they are in fact the architects of their own reality in this lifetime. Being an unconscious creator is usually not a problem if all goes well, but when matters get out of hand and we end up being not as happy, prosperous or content as we somehow know deep down we were meant to be, it becomes a real dilemma.

Often the unconscious creator would turn to self-pity, blame or rage, believing that their partner, family, friends, teachers, peers, co-workers, society, the environment, nature, or God is somehow responsible and accountable for their personal misfortune and misery. Unconscious creators are often slaves to their own lack consciousness and they tend to make sweeping statements based on false beliefs they cling to, regarding their own worth or the lack of justice in the world.

Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else’s hands, but not you ~ Jim Rohn

It must accept my fate.

I have such bad luck.

Things never go my way.

I must be cursed.

God is punishing me.

I am such a loser.

It is what it is.

My life just sucks!

Unconscious co-creators often go through a lot of unnecessary pain, suffering and misfortune in their lifetime. Much of it can be prevented, or at least alleviated. Sometimes, in my destiny coaching practice, I feel like a helpless bystander, having to witness some of my more stubborn, cynical clients turn themselves into powerless victims of their own circumstances. They either choose to become martyrs to their own fear, laziness or indecision, or they are in such denial that they are unwilling to change their self-destructive ways. They come to me for help, because they are not content to let Fate, Chance, Luck or Destiny drag them by the hair along their life path, but yet they also make very little effort to accept responsibility for the chaos and catastrophe they have thus far chosen to manifest in their lives.

The most troublesome aspect of the unconscious creator is that they are unaware of how their creative actions impact all of us. Apart from the damage these unconscious creators cause in their own lives, they are also of very little use to the welfare of their community, or the well-being of our planet. They often do more harm than good, because all their unconscious acts of creation serve mostly only their own selfish needs and are not in harmony with the needs of the rest of creation.

If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much ~ Jim Rohn

There are mainly two kinds of unconscious creators. I call them the survivors, and the sinners.

The Survivors

For the survivors their unconscious co-creation is mostly geared towards their own survival as human beings. These people usually only manifest enough on an unconscious level to get by for yet another day. They are so entirely caught up in ‘scraping through’ and ‘keeping head above water’ that they are blind to any other possibilities in their lives. Nothing else matters much to them. Ironically, the more aware they become of their own lack and hardship, the less and less they seem to have.

We truly do become what we think of and focus on, and when our attention is centered on what we don’t have and how bad things are in our lives, we automatically create, attract and manifest even more of the same. We simply become what we think, say and believe. If your daily focus in life is on being sick, poor or lonely, you will be diseased, deprived and desperate. You are merely creating more and more of the same.

The main risk that the typical survivor creator runs is not that they are missing out on some of the best things life has to offer, but that they are most probably not achieving their soul purpose or life calling. In the survival mode we are unable to accomplish our true destiny.

This principle is perfectly demonstrated by Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Abraham Maslow introduced the world to his hierarchy in 1943 with an essay titled, A Theory of Human Motivation. Maslow used his proposed ‘hierarchy of needs’ to describe the typical pattern of human motivation. His theory suggests that as humans our most basic, lower level needs must first be met, before we will have a real desire or motivation to fulfill any of the higher level needs.

People who consider themselves victims of their circumstances will always remain victims unless they develop a greater vision for their lives ~ Stedman Graham

Maslow also wondered why some people seem to go the extra mile to achieve something in their life, while others lack the drive or motivation to pursue anything beyond daily survival. For this purpose he coined the term metamotivation to describe the motivation of people who go beyond the scope of their basic needs and strive for constant personal growth and self-actualization.

Survivor creators lack Maslow’s metamotivation. They focus on their most basic needs and typically do not create or attract much beyond the three lower levels of Maslow’s hierarchy, namely their physical needs, safety and security, and love and relationships. It is therefore unlikely that they will achieve their soul purpose or accomplish their life calling in this lifetime, for basic human survival is not the fundamental reason we incarnated as human beings.

The Sinners

For the sinners manifesting tends to revolve mostly around the lower energy frequencies on the scale of human emotion: pride, vanity, narcissism, selfishness, anger, envy, jealousy, hatred, gluttony, sloth, discontent, despair, egotism, conceit, self-importance, arrogance, snobbery, greed, and the lust for power and control.  I call them the “sinners” because many of the motivations that drive their unconscious manifestations remind me of the Seven Deadly Sins found in the Catholic faith, also known as the Cardinal Sins or the Capital Vices.

Now, this may seem like an unfair generalization at first glance; it may even appear to be somewhat judgmental! Of course, I admit that not all unconscious creators are purely self-serving, egotistical ‘evil-doers’! Some of their unconscious acts of creation do sometimes bring positive, useful manifestations into our shared reality, despite their lack of spiritual awareness. Furthermore, many of their self-centered and malevolent creations are fortunately prevented or limited from manifesting due to the overriding effect of Universal Law, which ensures continued order, harmony and balance throughout the Universe.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others ~ Marianne Williamson

If you observe the typical desires and manifestations of spiritually unconscious people, how much of what they bring into our shared reality serves their fellow man or the planet they share with us? Would their typical manifestations, for example, reflect the Seven Virtues of the Catholic faith? How many people do you know who consistently lead a life of true charity temperance, diligence, chastity, patience, kindness and humility? Most likely you do not know many, if any at all. And I am sure the few you might know all have one thing in common: they are either devoutly religious or they are spiritually highly aware.

I have never been able to comprehend why anyone would be judgmental or disapproving of the religious beliefs and spiritual practices of others. Thank God for all the Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Judaists, Spiritualists, Neo-Pagans and millions of dedicated followers of all the other world religions who profess the values of unconditional love, peace and harmony. Their beliefs and practices contribute much to our continued expansion and evolution as a species. They make our world a safer and more pleasant place than it would otherwise be. Note that I am referring to those who uphold the true, original values of their faith, not the zealots, extremists or followers of man-made dogma.

Every heart-based prayer, meditation, trance, initiation, song and dance that sends positive, higher vibration energy into the Conscious Universe brings balance to all the negative, immoral and destructive acts of creation that we sometimes commit as fallible human beings, whether conscious or unconscious. For those among us who are creating that which may be negative and destructive in the world, often because of fear, resistance, lack consciousness or spiritual disconnection, there are many other spiritually aware souls who create all that may be positive and constructive in our world, because of their belief in kindness, compassion, selflessness, harmony, peace and unconditional love. There may be less of that going around these days, but it is so much more powerful!

In everything in the Universe there is always perfect balance. It is Universal Law. I am therefore thankful for every form of spiritual practice and act of worship in the world that serves the continued expansion of our Universe and invites joy, peace, goodwill, charity, compassion and unconditional love into our shared human experience. These spiritual acts of conscious co-creation serve to maintain, support and improve physical life experience for ourselves and the generations to come.

One question remains. If you are reading this, chances are that your are a metaphysically aware, spiritually awakened individual. You are most likely also a conscious co-creator. If so, what have you deliberately created today to make our world a better place?
