At the time I was writing the first story about my mom’s silverware, I was trying to figure out what became of it. It cannot simply have disappeared? So, this time I did some research to see if other people also found that heirlooms would go missing that was handed down to them. And after talking to several people I came to the conclusion that for many of them items were also misplaced, or they had forgotten where the item used to be. Now, in my case we are talking about cheap silverware, not an expensive ring or ornament.
Where I live we have lots of farmland, but we also have many counties around us that offer festivals and fairs. Living out in the country it not as boring as one might think. There is one event my wife and I go to every year that has great food and many interesting vendors to browse, where you don’t mind spending money. As we were walking around, I noticed they had opened up an additional street, because the fair was bigger than previous years.
We made are way down the new area where I noticed a psychic at a booth. Her hair was long and black, and her dress kind of reminded me of the 60’s fashion. I noticed she had a Bible that was very old; the cover had cracks from old age. My wife said, “Why don’t you get a reading with her?” I decided it may not be a bad idea.
Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you ~ Exodus 20:12
My wife told me she was going to get something to drink in the meantime, and disappeared from my sight. I also noticed that this lady was ready to eat, and what was really weird was that she pulled out a fork that looked exactly like the ones that I had inherited from my mom! It was identical to the forks that had bees disappearing from my mom’s old set, the only difference being that the handle was yellow, while my mom’s are pink. To me this was the sign I had been looking for.
I went up to the psychic but before I could speak she said, “You know you have a very old soul?” I asked her to tell me more. “This is your third life,” she said. “You had two other lives before and you have many spirit guides around you in this lifetime. You’re very gifted.”
I told her I noticed she had a Bible. She said, “Yes, my daughter bought it for me at a yard sale in the early nineties. She lives in Columbus, Ohio and she thought I would like it”. The more I look at this Bible, the more I felt the need to know more about it. Bur then my wife came up to me and asked if I was ready to leave and I said yes.
On the way home I was telling my wife about the Bible and what the lady said to me about my past lives. It was unusual to me because I don’t believe in reincarnation. I believe once your done you go to heaven, or you go to hell.
When we got home I went into my home office and took out the photo album of my parents pictures. I remember one picture my dad took after my mom got home from church one day. She always had this Bible in her hand and it was black. I felt compelled to find this photo. It seemed like forever until I found the picture, and there was my mom in the backyard holding this black Bible. I could not believe my eyes!
The virtues we acquire, which develop slowly within us, are the invisible links that bind each one of our existences to the others – existences which the spirit alone remembers, for Matter has no memory for spiritual things ~ Honore Balzac
I grabbed the picture and told my wife I will be back soon. The fair was 20 minutes from my house, so time was not a issue. I went back to the fair and I handed her the picture. I asked her if she had seen my mom before. She said, “I have, she had been in my dreams many times… and every time she was in my dream I was at a fair, not this fair but one like it”.
She continued to tell me that these dreams started after her daughter bought the Bible for her. “Every time I have seen this lady in my dreams, I knew it was connected to the Bible my daughter had bought for me”. She then walked over to her table and picked up the Bible and handed it to me. I opened it and there it was – my mother’s name written inside. You could have knock me over with a feather!
I looked at the psychic lady and she looked at me with a smile and said, “I guess we both know who this Bible belongs to now”. I thanked her and then I told her that I don’t really believe in reincarnation. She said, “I understand, but maybe you need to know that your mom, this lady in the picture, she is the one who has been hiding her silverware from you, to let you know she there for you”.
