Open-Minded Curiosity Is The Key To A Happy, Healthy Life
A client asked the other day how I keep my immunity up during these challenging times, and if there is anything special one can do to stay mentally healthy. My answer was simple. You simply need to keep an open mind, and have passion for life.
Working with spirit has taught me over the years to live my life wholeheartedly, with daily gratitude, and with an open mind and a healthy curiosity. I am always eager to learn and experience new things. We are not meant to be constantly stuck in a rut, nor spend our lives in mediocre stagnation.
Just the other day, a friend told me that she thought I am the most imaginative and adventurous person she has ever met. I am always so optimistic and upbeat, she said, and she gets energy from me just by spending time with me.
She has also witnessed how positive things happen in my life through my spiritual practices. For example, I use certain crystals, visualizations and affirmations to bring about real change in my life – not only for myself, but also for others.
The more we are open-minded to explore new horizons, and learn new things, the more we allow positive, creative new energies to enter our reality, empowering us to achieve things that we otherwise wouldn’t – especially when we just sit around doing nothing.

Many people have been very stuck in recent months, both literally and figuratively. And some have been really miserable, trapped in a rut, mainly because they are so narrow-minded and not open to exploring new perspectives. They have this belief that they can only know what they can see, and have a rigid way of going about their lives. It’s their familiar, predictable way, or no way. No wonder the recent upheaval in our world has turned their lives completely upside down!
I firmly believe that being open-minded, curious, and even a little adventurous, keeps us adaptable, sane and enthusiastic to be alive. I find that when we are curious, we are absolutely less depressed and less prone to a victim mentality, because we are like a kid on Christmas Eve… always looking forward to the next blessing the Universe wishes to unfold in our lives.
We have to go about life with our hands open and willing to receive, and empower ourselves to be flexible in how we perceive things. A healthy curiosity lights the way to the future, and brings real gifts and blessings into our lives that we might not otherwise have access to.
When we shut down our hearts and minds to the world, and close ourselves off to learning new ways of thinking, or exploring alternative viewpoints, we really limit ourselves in our mental dexterity, personal growth and soul expansion.
I definitely have always gravitated more towards open-minded folks, instead of those who roll their eyes whenever anything new or unusual comes up, that doesn’t fit into their little tiny mold of how life should be.
In order to achieve great things, you must stretch your beliefs, your efforts, and your tolerance. You will have to face new situations with an open mind, eager to reach your destiny ~ Brian Cagneey
I also believe life can be very dull and boring if we don’t at least try to tap into those parts of our mind that allows us to think in a more magical, mystical way. We are after all the masters of the reality we choose to create for ourselves. It is our spiritual duty to paint our lives to be more colorful and exciting. I like to call it being a ‘quantum thinker.’
When we live with a quantum mindset, we are much more open and inviting of all the wonderful things life and the Universe has to offer. Our lives are essentially more abundant and fulfilling. So, why not choose to be more curious and imaginative in life? In doing so, your life will become much more positive, abundant and blessed. An open mindset makes for a much more enriched, happy life. And a happy life is a healthy life.
