Everyday Life Happens To Psychics Too
To be in this world, but not of it… I imagine this motto might be the secret ideal of many a psychic advisor. Clients tend to view us as being calm and together at all times. However, life happens to psychics too.
For example, right now I am nursing a very sickly husband and seeing to some extra chores that he usually attends to. So, even though we prepare for the psychic readings we offer, we still have our own life’s everyday challenges and officialdom to deal with.
Unless we go and reside in a cave somewhere, I guess we will always be exposed to some form of general chaos around us! Of course, this does help us to identify with our clients when they say they are running around like “headless chickens” in their lives.
There are no great people in this world, only great challenges which ordinary people rise to meet ~ William Frederick Halsey, Jr.
I sometimes feel considerable turmoil inside of me when a client tells me that I have somehow managed to have a calming effect on them, and that they are glad they came to me for their “fix”! This I can only put down to my spirit helpers working through me. Although, once I start a reading, be it on the phone or in person, I am transported away from my own issues around me.
A reminder of how spirit works through me occurred only yesterday, when halfway through a long phone reading on Psychic Access, my reading sanctuary filled up with the most powerful fragrance. It was very similar to the scent of a “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” bush, which used to blossom outside my former work room back in South Africa.
The exquisite fragrance lasted at least an hour after the reading had ended, and was in fact the calling card of my client’s grandmother. It was a clear reminder that, although we do our best to deliver information in a reading, the information only comes through us and not from us mere mortals!
Psychics are often overwhelmed by the amount they take on daily, so it may be useful for us to explore the emotional reasons as to our hyperactive sense of responsibility. This is something which often crops up in the readings we deliver. The client often asks me what cruel fate has caused them to have so much put upon them. Experience has taught me that it is actually a growth opportunity to learn to say no. In my case I was learning to no longer be the doormat I had tended to be for so long. Although, when it comes to my furry pets, I will happily be a sucker!
t is not in the still calm of life, or the repose of a pacific station, that great characters are formed. The habits of a vigorous mind are formed in contending with difficulties ~ Abigail Adams
We tend to fall into the mindset of feeling we have to please everyone, even though this is unrealistic, with guilt being the driving force behind all of it. In being a “yes person” we may also feel indispensable at work, or needed by friends and family. Often we don’t wish to delegate because of the strong chance another person won’t do a job to the standard we would.
The irony is, the more we take on, the more it leads to additional guilt, because we will, actually end up letting people (including ourselves and our health) down.
I find I have to prioritize, and have my ‘to do’ list. If someone asks for help, I will be honest about the amount of commitments I already have, and agree to being of help when I possibly can.
I once read somewhere, and even made a note of this technique called “The Four D’s.” I apply it when I feel overwhelmed and over-stretched with commitments. As a means to starting your day with ease and a clear head, look at your “to do list of D’s” and decide whether to:
1. Do it now
2. Delay it
3. Delegate (my husband’s favorite)
4. Dump it!
