The Lifelong Growth Journey Of A Spirit Messenger
As a professional psychic medium, there are times when I have profound readings with clients that remind me why I chose this path. These moments are touchstones for my own soul journey. Today’s reading with a long-lost client was one of those moments.
We hadn’t spoken in over thirteen years. Life had moved on for both of us. Yet, as usual, spirit had impeccable timing.
Despite the years that had passed, she found my contact information in an old magazine article I wrote nearly fifteen years ago. She doesn’t tend to keep things like this, so she was surprised to stumble upon it.
Was it a coincidence? Or was it a nudge from the other side? I have no doubt that her loved ones orchestrated the whole event, weaving threads of destiny to bring us back together.
From the moment our session began, the energy was electric. Our connection was instantaneous, as if no time had passed at all. It was just as magical as when she first visited my home in South Africa so many years ago.
Her spirit family lined up eagerly, as if they had been waiting for this moment for years. Her late father made his presence known first, with unmistakable details, such as his confident swagger and a certain hand gesture that she instantly recognized.
The reading was filled with laughter, which spirit adores. The joy and elevated vibration only deepened our connection and opened the channel wider. As the energy built, more evidence and heartfelt messages flowed effortlessly.
Without service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It’s important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It’s the way in which we ourselves grow and develop ~ Dorothy Height
Beyond the laughter and validations, there was also reassurance and healing. She had endured many years of emotional, physical, and financial struggles. Seeing her uplifted and feeling the weight lift from her heart reminded me of my deeper calling.
This is why I serve. This is why I continue to learn, stretch, and grow. It reignited something in me. I was reminded of the importance of ongoing development, even for experienced psychics and mediums.
I consider myself fortunate to currently be part of a small, nurturing development group led by an extraordinary medium. She has years of experience, and her humility grounds her teaching. Under her guidance, we explore new realms of spirit communication in a consistently safe and encouraging environment.
She often reminds us that mediumship development is not about perfection, but presence. She gently nudges us out of our comfort zones and encourages us to explore the unseen realms more deeply. In each session, we practice identifying each spirit’s age, gender, personality, quirks, and the unique impressions they leave behind.
Sometimes they share memories, special dates, or intimate details. At other times, they reveal the struggles they faced in their physical lives or offer apologies and explanations to promote healing for those still in this world.
A powerful aspect of our training is learning to maintain the connection for longer periods of time. Once we sense a presence, we’re encouraged to strengthen the connection. The goal is to convey their love, truth, and continued presence. This often includes information that only the client would recognize, such as names, locations, objects of sentimental value, and even their sense of humor.
Sometimes, spirits impress upon us specific physical sensations that mimic what they experienced in their final days. Whether it’s chest pain, confusion, or a sudden emotion, these sensations serve as important clues.
Everyone has a purpose in life and a unique talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals ~ Kallam Anji Reddy
Perhaps most touching, though, is when a spirit reassures a client that their absence during a loved one’s passing was not a mistake. Many clients feel guilty for not being present at the end, and spirits often come through to release them from that burden.
It is important to thank spirit at the end of every session. It is no small feat for them to lower their vibration to meet ours. Experienced mediums have repeatedly told me that this effort can tire those in the spirit world. It’s like descending into denser energy, a feat that is often guided by other spiritual helpers. Offering gratitude honors their courage and dedication to making contact.
In this sacred work, complacency is a barrier to growth. It’s easy to assume that mastery comes with experience. However, spirit communication is a living art that evolves with us. Each reading, each connection, and each moment of stillness offers a lesson. The more we embrace our development, the more attuned we become as instruments through which spirits can express themselves.
We are not just messengers; we are bridges. Like any good bridge, we must be maintained, strengthened, and supported to carry the weight of our sacred work. Whether through mentorship, circle work, meditation, or personal reflection, development keeps us aligned with the highest integrity of our calling.
My reading with my long-time client was a beautiful reminder of that. Her loved ones brought so much joy and healing, not only to her, but to me as well. It was a full-circle moment that demonstrated how spirit is always working behind the scenes, nudging and guiding us, and reminding us that we are never alone.
The moral of the story is simple yet profound: we are never truly finished developing as psychics and mediums. The journey is eternal, just like the soul. Each step we take brings us closer to becoming the clearest and most loving channel possible.
