The Selfless Flow Of Divine Love
Love is a divine spiritual energy. It originates in the divine heart of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The internal energy of his love is so strong that it emanates out of his body as love personified, in the form of the Supreme Goddess.
In the spiritual tradition of Bhakti, which is founded on the Vedas, a collection of religious texts originating in ancient India, the Supreme Goddess is identified by the Sanskrit term shakti, the primordial divine feminine energy, and the Supreme God as shaktiman, the divine masculine source of this cosmic energy.
She also bears the name Radha, meaning she who gives the greatest pleasure to him, whom she calls by the name Krishna, the ‘all-attractive.’ Together, they form the Divine Couple, an eternal reservoir of reciprocal divine love which ever increases.
Love is alive. It is a living, giving, and flowing force. Love, like God, is unlimited and ever-expanding. Divine Love offers its transcendence for us souls in this world to follow, serve, and ultimately return to our original, eternal spiritual nature.
Our spirit, soul or jivatma is therefore an expression of the primordial energy of the shaktiman, which emanates both from and for his love. Whereas Radha’s love is infinite, we individual souls are infinitesimal. We merely serve to enhance and celebrate with our supreme existence the Divine Couple’s infinite love, which in turn imbues our souls with joy.
One way our soul can serve the joy and union of the Divine Couple in this world is by allowing the spiritual energy of love to flow through our own heart to others. The beauty of true love is that it is never selfish and does not seek to satisfy the demands of the ego. Like a river rippling toward the ocean, divine love courses toward the one it fills with its own essence.
Spiritual love, derived from love intelligence, is nonconditional, nonpersonal benevolence. It is the love of being loving, with no strings attached, just for the sake of being what God wants us to be ~ Thomas Hora
Love never holds back, pulls back, or reverses track. It does not restrict, constrict, or control. Love only exists to give, and give, and give. And in this giving, love experiences its own satisfaction and completeness. The soul who lets this love flow through their heart feels fulfilled with their own happiness and joy of loving, giving, and living.
Doing readings for clients, I often find that some people have decided to pull their energy back from a person who is their partner or love interest. Their belief is typically that by pulling back they will attract the other person more. While it may appear to have an effect like this in some situations, it will not yield that response from all individuals, and it will never bring either person to the experience of love in truth. Love wants to flow. Its very nature is to be selfless and forth giving. To be in love, one must also be in the flow of love, fully and unconditionally immersed in its divine qualities.
Ordinary love is selfish, darkly rooted in desires and satisfactions. Divine love is without condition, without boundary, without change. The flux of the human heart is gone forever at the transfixing touch of pure love ~ Sri Yukteswar Giri
Withdrawing, withholding, and controlling are very different energetic frequencies and patterns, as opposed to accepting, releasing and flowing. Pulling back restricts and blocks the flow of love’s pure energy. The power or force of love is its purity. Again, love must flow to give, and give, and give, and it continues to do so even if it is not given any reason to, or not to. It does not seek to receive or demand to be reciprocated, yet it always receives abundantly in the giving of itself.
Although the spiritual energy of love never seeks to serve itself, the soul by nature is pleasure-seeking. The completeness of pleasure can be enjoyed by flowing to the original reservoir of all pleasure, the Divine Couple. When the Love Source is served and the whole is pleased, then our tiny particle souls are also satisfied. Only then are we able to experience the flow of true love to the fullest and share that love with other living beings.
