Jealousy Steals Your Serenity
Doing a psychic reading can sometimes trigger unpleasant memories or negative emotions for the psychic professional. But, as unpleasant as our own experiences may have been, they do help us to identify with those individuals who approach us for counsel.
One situation which has cropped up lately relates to jealous friends or family members. More often than not, my client doesn’t have the foggiest idea as to why the jealousy is there at all, especially when they feel they’ve put every effort into sustaining the relationship in question. All friendships and relationships take work, but when we feel that, in return we are getting back bad vibes, or any kind of negativity, it doesn’t feel fair.
If malice or envy were tangible and had a shape, it would be the shape of a boomerang ~ Charley Reese
Some 20 years ago, I consulted a psychic reader about a decision to relocate to another continent. Part of my objective with the international move involved attempting to salvage some sort of relationship with my mother. The psychic asked whether I was aware that my mother was actually jealous of me.
“You must be kidding me,” I replied. In hindsight, knowing now that my final attempt to rescue the mother-daughter relationship was yet another disappointment, I realize the psychic was right.
My mother was brought up extremely poor. I wasn’t raised with a silver spoon either, but there was always food on the table. I realize now that my mother chose to remain a victim of her circumstances. Mothers usually want the best for their kids, but mine resented me. This has given me invaluable life lessons by experiencing a myriad of emotions which comes with this kind of challenging relationship.
It never did get better. I am sure I could have approached certain things differently too, but I did the best I could at the time. The last thing I received from my mother was a legal letter accusing me of things I never did, and asking me not to contact her again. To this day, I am unsure of what prompted this, other than a possible addiction to prescription medication. I can’t begin to imagine the hell she went through thinking that the world was against her.
Jealousy is the dragon in paradise; the hell of heaven; and the most bitter of the emotions because associated with the sweetest. ~ A.R. Orage
The bottom-line is, when clients feel, or are told that others are jealous of them, I understand how awful it feels for them. I typically give them a peek into how the other person’s suffering and insecurity got them to that point of jealousy in the first place. The jealous person suffers too, as there is no way they can feel fulfilled and envious at the same time.
It is my own personal belief that stressful, negative emotions beat up our immune system a lot more than the average virus ever could. Because our thoughts produce physical manifestations from our emotions, it’s always important to bear in mind that any negative emotion that festers within us, will affect us much more than another person we feel a grudge towards.
To stay on purpose, always be mindful of any negative mindset, such as jealousy, which steals your serenity and forms blocks to creating the peaceful future you desire.
