Seeing The Real World Of The Heart

As a woman and mother, I have questions about things happening in my world. As an intuitive empath, I receive questions that others have about things happening in their world. A recent experience sums up what I consider to be the most reliable source of inner wisdom, and where answers can be accessed by all of us.

I was awake one night with the energetic sensation of a specific situation permeating my experience. I could feel the energy in each expansion of my chest, as I inhaled. It filled my every breath, my every sense. My mind questioned, but I heard the guiding whisper of God in my soul say, “The real world is in the heart.”

There are spiritual dimensions of reality that are deeper, finer, subtler, more substantial than what is evident on the surface in the physical world. The door that opens to them is within the heart. There is truly more than meets the eye.

This realization reminded me of the illustration plates in the anatomy section of my parents’ encyclopedia, which fascinated me when I was a child. It wasn’t the human body per se that so intrigued me; it was the way the transparencies overlaid one another to form the whole picture.

At the top of them all was the skin, creating a picture of a human the way I was accustomed to see. As I turned the first page, I got a glimpse of something I had felt but never seen directly before with my eye, namely muscles. Page by page continuously showed deeper levels of anatomy beneath the surface, including the circulatory system, organs, and skeleton.

Turning those pages one by one, I saw each layer and marveled at how they intersected. As I flipped from right to left, resting the transparencies back on top of one another, I could see how they all come together in human form.

As an intuitive, living in daily devotion and spiritual awareness, I’ve grown to appreciate that the world and all existence are similarly layered in a multi-dimensional reality, much like the overlaid transparencies in the anatomy section of that encyclopedia. What our eyes can see every day is merely an ‘outer covering.’ There is so much more going on beneath the day-to-day ‘skin’ of the world.

At the core of our experience is the heart, which many spiritual traditions recognize as the seat of the soul, as well as the super soul, God or Spirit. Inner knowing arises from here. While psychic abilities may most commonly be associated with the third eye, I personally value the heart origin of intuition most of all. It speaks the truth. It feels the truth. It knows the truth. It holds the truth.

The ‘eyes of the heart’ allow layers above, beyond, and beneath the surface to be seen and understood. But how can one polish this lens so that there is no confusion between what the outer world shows and the inner heart knows? You may find yourself asking a similar question when there is a gap of difference between the two. It often happens that the behavior of a person or the circumstances of a situation appear one way, while the energy reads another. It can become very difficult to know what to believe and trust as the truth.

When it comes to ‘seeing’ clearly, I find one of the most wonderful ways to open vision is to simply close the eyes, place both hands over the heart, and gently breathe, praying for each inhale to carry awareness deeper into the heart, and each exhale to lower the volume of the mind. Gradually, the head clears, the mental chatter quiets, and the inner wisdom of the real world of the heart can be seen, heard, and felt. From there, the grace of every truth is possible.
