Aromatherapy Divination
Our sense of smell is most closely related to parts of the brain that play a major role in controlling mood, memory, behavior, and emotion. In a spiritual sense, smells can trigger memories of people, places, and past events. There’s even a type of psychic ability in mediumship when communicating with deceased loved ones, known as clairolfaction or clairalience.
Clairolfaction is when we smell something that reminds us of someone we used to know who is now on the Other Side. This smell is distinct and comes out of nowhere. When a deceased loved one pays a visit to someone in the living and makes their presence known through smell, it could come through as a perfume they used to wear, or the smell of cigarette smoke, flowers, foods, or just about anything unique to that person.
The smell reaches the part of the brain in the receiver that brings up a memory, and of course, feelings and emotions associated with that smell. It can help to balance our emotions and create a harmonious feeling of peace and well being.
Maybe the aromatherapy works because all of my inner self-talk starts to focus on the visceral – the aroma – instead of on that noisy chatterbox that lives inside my head ~ Chris-Anne
Aromatherapy is a very popular alternative healing modality used by massage therapists and other wellness practitioners who want to create more balance for their clients. Oil diffusers that emit fragrance into the air can raise the vibration of a room, as well as the vibration of its occupants. Breathing in an aromatic essence can be the first and most important steps toward healing.
Another way to work with aromas, however, is in Divination. While in my magical herbal room one day, Spirit came to me and shared a fun way to work with fragrance, manifestation, and divination.
To do this you will need six bottles of essential oils. Some of my favorites are Cinnamon, Pine, Eucalyptus, Sandalwood, Lavender, Rose, Vanilla, and Patchouli, but you can use any kind of oils that you already have or that you prefer to purchase. I have found some fantastic deals online, and in discount outlets that have quality aromatherapy oils and blends, at a fraction of the retail price.
Take your six different bottles of oil and place them into a container, such as a basket or a lined trash container. You can even lay them out on a carpeted area, just make sure they are sealed well. Close your eyes and call in your Angels and Spirit Guides and ask them to help you choose an oil that is most needed in your life at this time.
With your eyes still closed, reach in and touch the bottles. Take all the time that you need and simply allow your hand to wave over or touch the bottles. When your hand goes strongly towards a certain one, pick it up and look at it. That’s the one! Now, read which one it is, open it and smell it. You have just done an Aromatherapy Divination.
The second half of this work is to align with the oil by opening it, smelling it, and thanking it for its gifts.
A note of caution: do not rub it directly onto your skin, especially if you have sensitive skin. People with sensitive skin must be careful before placing oils directly on the skin. Use your best judgment and consider using a carrier oil to dilute it. Any vegetable oil, such Almond, Avocado, Coconut, Grapeseed or Olive Oil, can be used as a carrier oil. You can also try Aloe Vera gel or even mix the essential oil with an unscented body lotion.
In addition to using essential oils to enhance my intuition, I also use essential oils to ground me so that I stay connected and focused with the earthly plane while having my intuitive channel open and bringing through messages ~ Laurie Barraco
Each fragrance not only holds medicinal properties that you are breathing in, but also contain magical components that can help you achieve different goals in your life. For example, Rose is associated with love and the opening the spiritual heart. If you have been looking for your soulmate or spiritual partner, Rose in your Aromatherapy reading could be telling you he is on his way into your life!
Also, Spirit often sends us repeat or double messages through divination. Maybe your Aunt Harriet used to wear Rose oil and you think of her while smelling this oil. Since Spirit works with all of your faculties, including smells and thoughts, there is most likely a message from your Aunt Harriet that she is watching over you and helping bring a partner into your life that is just right for you.
Next, take a piece of paper and with red or pink marker, write down your wish about some of the qualities you would like this person to have. If you’re not sure, simply write down that you are ready to meet him and that you trust that the perfect person will show up at just the right time. Take two drops of the rose oil and smear it onto the paper. Fold the paper four times and tuck it into your purse or pocket, and keep it until your wish comes true.
You can do the same thing for money manifesting goals. Pine and Cinnamon oils are great for bringing in new money. One of my favorites is an oil called Heather, which you can keep in a tiny bottle in your wallet, to ensure you will always have money when you need it. Work with whatever oil comes to you in your reading and be open to learning about its benefits, both medicinally and magically.
The wonderful thing about Aromatherapy Divination is that whatever oil you are guided to, it chose you and it knows exactly what you need. You can go online to look up the meaning for that particular oil and see how it fits into your life, but whatever ideas, memories, or feelings that oil conveys to you personally, is what’s most important.
Have fun with this and watch for results in about one month.
