Connecting With Your Inner Bliss
I recently came across an article about spiritual seekers who travel to distant lands to achieve such a state of bliss and inner peace. But in my experience you really don’t have to go all the way to some exotic destination to achieve a higher state of consciousness.
When I am alone, I often find myself in a state of complete and utter bliss. When I am by myself, my energy is my own. I feel centered and complete, as if on my own little retreat. I have always felt this way and I savor the quiet moments of my day.
With a willing heart to carve out some time in your busy day, you can center yourself by being mindful and allowing your thoughts to simply come and go. Simply take a moment of solitude and go with the flow.
Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves – slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future; live the actual moment. Only this moment is life ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
I find that this habit makes me feel calmer and happier. I become more in tune with what is going on in and around me when I embrace those moments of solitude and peace and quiet.
I believe the reason why so many of us have problems with stress, anxiety and possibly depression, is because we have been programmed at a very young age to believe that we must be constantly on the ‘go and do.’ We believe we must be busy and productive all the time, and that the only way to achieve happiness is to be successful. If I have ever heard real nonsense, this would be it.
While there is truth to being happy in what you love to do, you don’t have to work constantly and be on the go 24/7. I feel that it is important that we take time to enjoy the quiet. To embrace solitude and to really feel in alignment. I have found myself to be centered emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually when I take that time to enjoy some good quality alone time.
When I am connected with spirit doing psychic readings for others, I have found that the energy can be of a very high frequency. I don’t come close to that type of serene tranquility in my personal downtime, but I like to think I can get as close to that amazing feeling as one can come in the weighted-down, material realm, by just being mindful and taking some time out.
It is pretty amazing to be able to connect with spirit while in that state of quiet bliss and solitude. That is what we are doing when we mediate – we are connecting with spirit, and we are able to hear God, The Divine, our ancestors. I can only achieve this when I am centered and open to embrace that amazing state of peace.
Mindfulness is about being fully awake in our lives. It is about perceiving the exquisite vividness of each moment. We also gain immediate access to our own powerful inner resources for insight, transformation, and healing ~ Jon Kabat-Zinn
For me to do readings, I have to make sure I’m in alignment. To be in alignment I must spend a lot of time in meditation, in quiet and solitude. If I find I have been around a lot of drama and chaos, I usually don’t work for a few days, as I need to replenish my energy and get back into spiritual alignment.
This may be why I rarely do readings after holiday get together with the family or friends. As peace-loving and ego-free as one can be while around those who emanate angry, negative energy, it can still be very draining, to say the least. Even if we choose not to engage with such negativity, we unfortunately still absorbed this energy.
Spirit says it is very good for our soul and mental health to take time each day for peace and quiet. My guides share that it is like taking a vitamin each day – eventually your health gets better and stronger. It is a form of meditation. The more we do it the more calmer we are mentally and spiritually. It is good for our health!
Be sure and carve out a little time each day for meditation. Your body, mind and soul will thank you in ways you may not realize yet. I guarantee it.
