Mass Death A Form Of Group Karma?

I was recently asked if there is a difference in the process of transition to the spirit world when many people die simultaneously, compared to when they transition individually? Is the death process different when there is a mass loss of life?

This question may have been prompted by the increased awareness we have these days on social media of natural disasters, as well as other large scale tragedies caused by wars, plane crashes or acts of terrorism.

Souls passing as a group is a topic I recall discussing with my classmates at the Arthur Findlay College of Psychic Research, many years ago. Jeff, one of the men in our group, was a well-known platform medium, and he had a fascination with the subject of ‘Group Karma.’

Jeff explained that prior to incarnating into this world, and, on a spirit level, many souls decide to die either at the same time, or within a short space of time of one another, in order to repay some karmic debt, which would contribute to their spiritual growth. Jeff also believed that being part of a certain tragedy, they had created their own destiny on our planet.

He went on to say that in his perception mass passing, especially when it appears to be unexpected and sudden, forces individuals out of their bodies during impact and that one’s spirit actually leaves the physical form before any discomfort is felt. So, there is usually no pain involved with such a sudden impact.

However, although it may be pain-free, this sudden passing from one state of being to another can be a shock to the soul. There are those whose spirits remain at the scene because they aren’t prepared for the transition.

Jeff explained how he had recently been called to the scene of a horrific accident, in which many people died, and he encountered spirits clinging to the area trying to figure out what had happened to them. He was a ‘rescue medium’ too, helping souls to find their way and go to the light. I loved his practical approach to this part of his work. He was a humble man who had truly found his calling.

There are rescuers on both this sides of the veil. Rescuers on the other side are available to comfort and to help souls who may think they are still alive in this world. Some souls need assistance shifting to their new lives in the wonderful world of spirit.

Once they become fully aware of what had transpired, souls may begin to question their crossing over. Some understand the meaning of the trauma of their deaths, whilst others need additional counseling or guidance. Spirit helpers are there to assist until those souls are ready for the next step of their journey ‘home’.
