As a youngster, Shani thought it normal to see people and pets who “emigrated” to the other side. It was, however, the profound vision of Angels, at age nine, which had the most marked effect upon her. Her search and development into the psychic realm has been ongoing, with her first intense initiation, almost thirty years ago, into the world of African mysticism that involved connecting with the ancestors as part of her training as a Sangoma. She entered into “Twasaship” (training to become a traditional healer) in a remote village on the Mozambique / Natal borders of Southern Africa, in order to qualify as a traditional healer and Sangoma.

Tarot was her first choice, in a more western discipline, that began with readings for friends, progressed to readings for clients, and, eventually, she was approached to put together a Tarot course. Shani participated in formal training in psychic development at the Arthur Findlay College of Psychic Research in England, and attended some workshops with Gordon Smith on his visits to South Africa. Studies in Aura-soma with Mallory Stendall, subsequently enabled her to use that knowledge in healing and prediction work. A near death experience, after a bout of cerebral malaria fourteen years ago, had a profound effect on her future life path. She recalls being out of her body and watching visitors coming in and out of ICU. But her most significant memory was sitting with a council of beings and discussing her return to earth to complete her contract for this lifetime. She simply had no choice but to come back! Her passion for animals was to have a deeper meaning too, because out of the blue, people would often ask her to connect with their lost pets, and she found that she was able to do so with positive results. Born in London, England, from a show business father, Shani frequently traveled to far-off places. Later as an adult, with her own longing for travel, her work brought her to many parts of the globe and exposed her to many varied people and cultures. What she has taken away from her experiences abroad, is that there is always a sort of longing clients have to be connected to the source of their being.
