Working With A Pendulum

Get a free psychic reading right now at PsychicAccess.comThe pendulum, when used for the highest good for yourself and others, can be great for spiritual growth and psychic development. Everyone is capable of using a pendulum in my opinion. It’s all about practice, practice, practice and the desire to become proficient with the pendulum.

Constant practice and experimentation will ensure ultimate success. When you start out with the pendulum, don’t be afraid to make a mistake, for mistakes are how people learn. Don’t get hung up on how it’s ‘supposed’ to work. How it chooses to work for the individual is the best way for that person.

With practice the results become reliable and clear. With experimentation and persistence one becomes more in tune with the higher self, subconscious and spirit. One must learn to set the ego aside and let the energy work through you. Remember to be the channel for information to come.

Dowsing is the exercise of a human faculty, which allows one to obtain information in a manner beyond the scope and power of the standard human physical senses of sight, sound, touch ~  Raymond C. Willey

To start, always concentrate on a question or problem. The pendulum can show true results, but remember the results may not be infallible. Always work by setting your intention for the highest and best outcome of the question or problem. You don’t always get the answer you desire, but merely what is best for that question.

To choose a pendulum that is right for you, let your intuition be the guide. Choose one that you are drawn to that you or like the look of. It should ‘feel right’ in your hand and should move easily for you. It usually just speaks to you.

Or you can make your own with a chain, or piece of thread about six to seven inches long. Hang any appropriate object that has some weight on one end. Place a small knot or bead on the other end. A traditional pendulum that has been used for years is a simple needle and thread.

Try to pick a time when you can be totally present in the moment, in a quiet space. The most important thing to find out is what your own movement or direction is for “yes” and “no” and “maybe.” For example, for some people the pendulum moves in a circle for “yes” and in a straight line for “no.” Always go with what feels right for you. Ask your new pendulum to show you. It’s not always by the book.

Get yourself as relaxed as possible and ask your questions to see what happens. You can ask anything as long as it is asked in a way that the movement of the pendulum can answer. Some people find that using pendulum charts are the easiest way to get an answer. Also remember in this instance that the question has to be asked in a way the chart can answer. You can also make your own chart.

Factual information alone isn’t sufficient to guide you through life’s labyrinthine tests.  You need and deserve regular deliveries of uncanny revelation.  One of your inalienable rights as a human being should therefore be to receive a mysteriously useful omen every day of your life ~ Rob Brezsny

Also, remember that any answer always refers to how it is at the present moment and it can change completely at another time, or in a different place.

My pendulum surprised me one night, while home alone in my old house (it is at least 270 years old). I represent the fourth generation living in this house. I was playing around with my favorite pendulum made of silver with a Celtic design. Using a new chart book with an ABC chart, I closed my eyes and asked if there was a spirit around me at that time. Sure enough, the pendulum started to swing to “yes.”

Then I asked, “Who are you?” With each swing I would open my eyes to see another letter. I never met my grandfather who was one of the former owners of the house. Sure enough, it spelled his full name: Silas Tarbell Longley. Not a common name. I was not thinking about him at all. That event certainly made a believer out of me!

My suggestion for anyone who wants to work with a pendulum is to set aside 20 or 30 minutes each day to practice, practice, practice. Familiarize yourself with the pendulum. It is useful divination tool. I even use it to determine what foods are best for my optimum health.
