Communicating With Heaven
Many of us choose to see Heaven, the Afterlife, or Paradise, as a sort of “other world,” a place we will never be allowed to see or experience until we die. The truth is, we interact with the spiritual realm every day!
Our current plane of physical existence is but one of many other dimensions. We have the ability to send messages to the spirit world, and vice versa. Even our jaded culture recognizes this. Have you ever heard the song Pennies from Heaven? Or maybe you are familiar with the old saying that seeing a red cardinal bird means that a dead loved one is thinking of us? These are just two small examples of many interfaces with the afterlife. Heaven is constantly trying to talk to us, but we’re usually too busy or oblivious to even notice. So how do we learn to listen?

Each of us has at least one angel or heavenly messenger who acts as our protector and guide. Get to know your guardian angel as a friend. Keep in mind that the angel may or may not be someone you have known in this life. Even if it is not the spirit of a loved one, the angel can serve as a go-between. Learn your angel’s name and let this guardian entity become a regular part of your spiritual practice.
Many of us rely on the comparatively small power of our smart phone for guidance or assistance, when we could be asking the help of a being who is immortal, wise, and wants to help us. That is precisely who our angels are.
The obvious reason we look to heaven is the loss of friends or loved ones. They, like our angels, want to comfort and aid us every day. Next time you feel a gentle touch on your shoulder, or hear your name whispered, that’s probably the presence of a departed person you knew well in life.
Think of this line of communication as a radio frequency. We have to train ourselves to “tune in” to hear it properly, but once we do, it’s as if we’ve been hearing it all along. We may hear a song that was meaningful to our loved one, find pennies (a symbol of the Oneness of Heaven) on the ground, or discover meaningful coincidences.

As with any spiritual practice, voicing our intentions is very important. Don’t be shy in expressing yourself to those in Heaven. You may already talk to a loved one who has passed on. The more you express yourself, the more likely you are to hear back.
The same goes for angels. Be honest, and give honor and respect for each one. Thank the angel by name. Have you ever heard that the Universe reflects back whatever you give it? The same goes for Heaven.
Heaven isn’t just an “end of the line” destination, either. Open yourself to its infinite levels and you’ll start to hear the many channels of communication from above. One day we may find ourselves there, but we don’t have to wait until then. Heaven is all around us, every day, if we are just willing to see it.
