Honoring Your Soul Contract
Each of us came into our current life for a reason that is relevant to our soul evolution. Regardless of how, where and when we arrived, we all came into this physical existence with a planned mission known as our soul contract, or pre-birth soul plan.
Before entering this life, our souls deliberately choose certain experiences and lessons to learn and contributions to make for the purpose of our own spiritual evolution. It’s essentially our cosmic to-do list!
We come for a variety of reasons: some to learn, some to teach, some to grow, some to heal. Some come to observe, others to participate. Some come to navigate a profound dark night of the soul. Some even come to influence the masses or change the world forever.
Whatever the nature of your soul contract, you can be absolutely certain that there is a divine purpose to it all. Never forget that your soul mission is your own doing. We owe our existence and our journey to no one. It is ours alone to experience and ours alone to complete.
One of the most empowering things we can do in this lifetime is to uncover the nature of our soul contract to ensure our ultimate success. We must reflect on our true purpose and the meaningful connections and experiences we encounter.
Our conflicts, all the difficult things, the problematic situations in your life, are not chance or haphazard, they are actually yours. They are specifically yours, designed specifically for you by a part of you that loves you more than anything ~ A. H. Almaas
We need to examine what kind of mission our soul has chosen. We can do this in a variety of ways:
Spiritual Practice: Engaging in some form of spiritual practice is essential. One popular practice that works for many people is simple meditation. Other practices include automatic writing, prayer, dream work, past life regression, psychic reading, channeling, and so on. Test the information you uncover by seeking confirmation through more than one method, and always trust your inner guidance.
Divine Guidance: Whether through prayer, meditation, or simply talking to the universe, ask for guidance. Pay attention to your intuition and any signs that may come your way.
Self-Reflection: Spend time introspecting. What activities or pursuits cause you to lose track of time? What gives you joy and fulfillment?
Passions & Talents: Identify your passions and natural talents. Consider your life’s passion, which is often a powerful indicator. Do you love working with troubled teens; do you get great pleasure from decorating homes; is one of your joys related to working with animals? Our soul mission aligns with activities that resonate with our true selves and the things that matter most to us.
Life Experiences: Think about significant experiences in your life. Are there common themes or lessons that recur? They may provide clues to your soul’s mission.
Values & Beliefs: Examine your core values and beliefs. What do you hold dear? Your soul mission is likely aligned with what you find deeply meaningful.
Explore Different Paths: Be open to trying new things. Sometimes your soul mission unfolds in unexpected ways.
Connection & Community: Engage in conversations and pursuits with people who inspire you or share similar interests. They may offer insights or perspectives that resonate with your soul’s mission. Ask several people you trust what they think your greatest strength is. You may be surprised at what they tell you about yourself.
Look at a soul contract as the blueprint of your life experience, and the major lessons you’re here to learn. Within that blueprint, you can navigate your reality as you like due to free will, but you won’t be able to avoid the major lessons ~ Daniel Hannah
Remember, it is a journey and discovery is usually gradual. Be patient and compassionate with yourself as you explore and uncover your unique soul mission. Once you have uncovered the key aspects of your soul contract, stay true to your mission, beliefs and personal truth.
The soul self arrives and leaves this plane at its own appointed time that has little to do with what or who it leaves behind. The soul understands that those left behind must also live out their own purposeful existence.
Honoring and fulfilling our soul contract is the greatest accomplishment we can achieve while we’re here, and therefore we must always be respectful of everyone’s soul journey and chosen life path – whether we agree with each other’s truth or not.
If you can live authentically in this existence, with truth and honesty, and complete your mission as intended, it will make your next soul journey much easier.
