Tarot Cards And Toxic Relationships
If intuition is the foundation for being a psychic, then divination tools are like putting on glasses to see the details. Tarot cards can reveal a person’s real intentions and provide a bigger picture into any situation that requires clarity.
When I use the Tarot for a love or relationship reading, I look for specific cards or combinations that show harmony or growth within the relationship or person. Here is a list of cards that typically catch my eye as major red flags, or signal that the connection between two people may be toxic.
The Magician
This card can be positive when surrounded by complimentary cards, but it can indicate that the person you’re interested may be charming… but manipulative. I often see this show up when someone only wants to do what they want, or when they want to be with multiple people.
Multiple Page Cards
If there are more than one page card in a spread, then you may be dealing with a person who likes the idea of being in love, but doesn’t have the ability to be mature or consistent in a relationship.
The 8 Of Swords
Sometimes the 8 of Swords means that your perception is being blocked. But in a relationship this may indicate that you’re trapped in toxic relationship dynamic, or a victim of mental abuse. You may need to break free!
Staying in an unhealthy relationship that robs you of peace of mind, is not being loyal. It is choosing to hurt yourself mentally, emotionally and sometimes, physically ~ Kemi Sogunle
The 9 Of Wands
This is a lovely card for sexual chemistry, but when combined with the Devil, Tower, or Chariot, it may signify that the other person is controlling or emotionally toxic.
The 7 Of Swords
This card encourages strategy, or reveals that the person you like prefers to spend time alone. If the 7 of Swords is accompanied by the Justice, Devil, or Hierophant card, then you are possibly dealing with a con-artist or a criminal.
The 5 of Wands
If this card shows up within a reading it can indicate that there will be a period of drama before things settle down, or the other person is only looking to date, instead of committing a serious relationship.
The Devil
This card may encourage rebellion, sexual expression and free will. But when negative cards are mixed with the Devil, then you need to be aware that there may be an unhealthy obsession, addictions, or deception.
Some people live in cages with bars built from the choices others made for them, the circumstances other people imposed upon them. And some people break free ~ C. JoyBell C.
Multiple 3 Cards
Whenever I see the 3 of Cups combined with 3 of Pentacles, it almost always indicates the existence of a love triangle. Combined with the 3 of Swords, it can reveal that a person is in a relationship, but finding a way to end it, while pursuing someone else.
The Knight of Wands
I love how energetic and fun the Knight of wands is, but if there are too many other Wands, or Swords, surrounding this card it can mean that the person you are infatuated with is playing a game and prefers situations with no strings attached.
The 8 of Cups
If there are too many Swords combined with this card it can mean that the person you like is emotionally unavailable, or not really that interested.
There are many Tarot card combinations and spreads that can shed light on your love life. If you are just getting started studying them, try different spreads and keep a journal of your discoveries. The Internet offers great tools and resources to get you started and there are various classes that offer in-depth material to help you grow as a Tarot reader.
Getting a professional reading is often recommended if you are frustrated or stuck in a toxic relationship, because it can open you up to the truth and provide the proper tools to get you back on the right track.
