Pure As The New Year Snow
The holidays have come and gone, and we are all back in the saddle again. Life goes on.
I am looking out of my window from the warmth of my living room. I see the snow coming down and blanketing the ground and trees. It is really making everything look so beautiful.
What was once muddy and dirty looking is now blanketed with white snow, making everything look so pure, new and refreshed. We now get to see the landscape with a clean new slate of snow, much like the brand new start to another promising year.
I also feel that this is the time of the year to be reaching up to the Higher Power, whatever that may be for each of us, and offering up our sorrows and problems. It is also an opportunity to confess our sins, or just enjoy the silence of meditation. Now is the time to be ‘washed clean’; we can become again as pure as the New Year snow.
The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of a world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment then where is it to be found? ~ J. B. Priestley
But this does not only apply to the beginning of the year. As the year progresses, we often let life get in the way and soon we are once again tarnished and ‘dingy’. But we can raise our vibration at any time and get back in alignment – to become fresh and new again!
I try to always take time to meditate, so I can constantly keep my point of view free of the dingy and dark and grey, but keep my reality always clean and pure as the white snow that is outside my window right now. Oh, how beautiful it is!
