Change Your Karma For A More Fulfilling Life
It is true. Karma is real. And it can change your life. Whatever you think, say, or do… it always comes back to you. When you give selflessly, it always comes back. And when you hurt someone you are truly hurting yourself.
We are all created equal, and all equally valuable, whether we are on this, or that side of the world. We matter just the same. To think of yourself as better than others is always going to come back in a negative way. Not to mention the fact that it is not very attractive! It is vitally important to live with a mindset that allows us to be mindful of how we treat each other. I know this from many years of working with people all over the world. I also know this from my personal spiritual practice.
Karma moves in two directions. If we act virtuously, the seed we plant will result in happiness. If we act non-virtuously, suffering results ~ Sakyong Mipham
I have found that it is not only our thoughts, words and deeds that determines our karma, but also our perspective and our habits. A good example of this is smoking. A person who chain smokes often has a bad cough or sore throat, which in the worst case scenario can turn into diseases like throat cancer or emphysema. We have to be careful and mindful of what we do to our bodies, so we can live longer and enjoy life more.
The same applies to what we choose to do to others. When we judge others, they will judge us, because what we put out there always comes back to us. I have seen people lose their temper in traffic and then get into accidents due to their completely self-sabotaging behavior. By changing our attitudes, perspectives and habits, we can change our lives. We can choose to live a peaceful, healthy and happy life, or not.
My life is so much more fulfilling when I do for others. That is what makes me happy. I can’t think of anything more rewarding than seeing someone smile, because of something I did for them. Makes all the difference in the world for me, and maybe that can make all the difference in the world for you too.
Give up your selfishness, and you shall find peace; like water mingling with water, you shall merge in absorption ~ Sri Guru Granth Sahib
I strongly believe in Karma. A lot of what we get is what we give. There is a saying that “the love we take is equal to the love we make”. Something to think about, as we are all going to want to take our last breath knowing we lived a good life.
Become conscious of your behavior and see if you cannot identify ways that your life can change for the better – on all levels. Don’t be in such a rush, live in the present moment. Change your attitude, and be more grateful. Then watch the abundance that pours in to your life.
