The Beautiful Season Of New Beginnings
Back in the Fall I posted a blog, titled Autumn Wishes, where I mentioned planting bulb, while wishing for a beautiful flower and praying for the fulfillment of a desire. At that time in October, it was my invitation for us to pause and notice the inexorable pull toward Winter Solstice. The days were growing incrementally shorter, ultimately culminating in the darkest day of the year.
But here we are now, and it is Spring again. Yes, it is the beautiful season of new beginnings, renewal and rebirth! Fresh buds are blooming, hibernating animals have been awakening and the earth seems to be coming to life again. Farmers and gardeners are now planting their future harvest, as temperatures slowly rise.
Who can resist the feelings of hope and joy that one gets from participating in nature’s rebirth? ~ Edward Giobbi
The spring tide is a period of restored vital energy. Life is starting from every pore of Nature. The whole face of the earth heaves and throbs with life force. Every spot teems with new existence. We are basking in the infinite affluence of nature’s ‘fountain of life.’ Spring is really a magnificent display of the Creator’s presence and power – a renewal which comes from the putting forth of Divine energy.
And what God does in the natural world, God also does in the spiritual realm. The time of depression and barrenness, caused by the long dark winter, is succeeded by a time of both new physical life and new spiritual energy.
Recently, we had some late cold weather, but despite all this, the flowers are still blooming. In contrast to the cold, long nights of winter, which made us want to curl up next to a fire and eat comforting, rich foods, the warming and lengthening days of spring make us want to get outside, exercise, eat lighter meals and savor the beauty of nature blossoming.
Spring is the perfect time to claim back your personal power. Let’s stop and take a deep breath, basking in the joy of the sunshine. If there are any remaining shadows in your life, like the lingering, late cold spells of the recent winter, then feel the sadness, acknowledge the anger for a minute. But then let it go! Tell yourself: “I will not allow the darkness of the past to engulf me in fear, or sadness. I am not a victim; I am a winner!”

We, often, feel like frauds as we hide our anger and our hurts behind a smiling face to present to the world, when we come out of our own inner sanctuaries. We are told to be strong, shake it off, release it. Yet, still, no matter how much we try to tell ourselves to be brave, we often slip back into the darkness.
Let us now put aside the dark days of the long winter. Let’s start anew and enjoy all the fresh energy that surround us. Let’s fulfill the dream we had when we planted those bulbs last Fall. Yes, we are not is Summer, yet, and some of us are still having some cloudy, rainy days. But the longer days of joy and sunshine are just around the corner.
We can rise above the problems, we can be the rock in the center of the storms. We can live today with joy, with hope, with passion, excitement and the knowledge that our dreams are just on the other side of the mountain. There are good paths to follow, toward our dreams, no matter how many clouds and raindrops may try to get in the way.
