When The Universe Has Other Plans
The universe has its own divine timing, and when we align with it, things unfold with natural grace that almost feels magical. When something comes about easily and effortlessly, it is meant to be.
How often have we tried to force change in our lives? Whether we’re striving for a career breakthrough, financial stability, or relationship transformation, we often push, hustle, and exhaust ourselves trying to make things happen.
Yet, in the spiritual realm, there is an understanding that not all struggles lead to fruition. Sometimes, a lack of movement is not resistance but divine redirection.
I believe that some paths in life are predestined. On a soul level, we choose specific experiences —challenging or joyful — before we are born so that we may grow, learn, and evolve. Though often mysterious, these soul contracts reveal themselves through synchronicity, intuition, and even delay.
A personal experience brought this truth into sharp focus for me last year when I decided to sell my home. Despite being in a seller’s market and having a desirable, well-maintained property, I received only a few viewings and no solid offers. It was baffling. Logically, everything pointed toward a quick sale.
A trusted psychic colleague then offered to read the situation’s energy for me, since reading these matters for oneself is usually not the best idea. She told me unequivocally that the house was not meant to sell at that time.
Although this was not the message I wanted to hear, I respected her insight. She had been accurate in the past, and the energy she sensed around the property resonated with my intuition, which I had chosen to ignore.

So, I surrendered. I took my home off the market and chose to travel abroad instead, trusting that if the house was meant to sell, it would.
When I returned home from a somewhat stressful trip, I saw the house in a new light. I suddenly understood why it hadn’t sold before. I wasn’t ready to leave yet, and it wasn’t time to let go. In fact, it felt really good to be home!
This experience reminded me of the importance of surrendering to divine timing. Sometimes, the universe puts things on hold, not to deny us, but to protect us. It gives us space to gain perspective and usher in a more aligned outcome.
A dear friend of mine went through something similar. She lived in a picturesque corner of Spain and adored her home. But life called her in another direction. Family responsibilities, a changing work situation, and health concerns left her with no choice but to move. For months, she resisted. The thought of leaving her sanctuary was heart-wrenching.
After much soul-searching and connecting with her guides, however, she made peace with the decision to sell her home. However, she dreaded the stress of showings, negotiations, and the emotional toll of the process. So, she clearly defined her desires and sent out a heartfelt request to the universe: to sell her home effortlessly and with minimal disruption, and to enjoy one last peaceful summer in her beloved retreat.
Miraculously, the universe complied. She received a solid offer without even listing the property publicly. The buyers didn’t want to move in until autumn, which gave her the very gift she had asked for — a peaceful, joyful goodbye.

What struck me most about my friend’s story was how seamlessly her wish was granted. The decision to move, which had weighed heavily on her, was resolved easily. She didn’t have to overthink, overplan, or agonize. It was as if the divine whispered, “We’ve got this,” carrying her across the threshold into the next chapter of her life.
Such experiences reaffirm my belief in divine timing and spiritual orchestration. When our heart, mind, and soul are truly aligned, the universe conspires to support us. We may not always understand the delays, detours, or closed doors, but with hindsight, we often recognize the beautiful pattern that has been woven all along.
So, the next time you find yourself battling against the current, take a breath. Listen. Ask for patience, grace, and guidance. Then trust that the universe knows the way. As Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith from The A-Team always said, “I love it when a plan comes together.” Especially when it’s a divine one.
