Strange Connections

A few years ago, one of my daughters and I discovered the intricate and intriguing world of the meditative state. As it turned out, my daughter had an inherent ability to bring anyone who was interested in participating to a complete and extremely fruitful outcome. This could mean meeting a spirit guide, animal guide, finding and understanding of one’s own soul color, or a plethora of other magnificent occurrences that can help to enhance an individual’s life.

It soon became known in our area that we were offering a free and viable service, and it was not long before our little workshop was at its full capacity.

One particular day, as we were getting ready for our next workshop, my little three-year-old granddaughter informed us that a deaf man would be arriving that day. We never thought to question the validity of her statement or even questioned how she would know this for a fact. She said it, we believed her, and simply waited for him to arrive. That’s how we do things in my family.

Well, the next thing we know, one of our regular participants pulls up in his vehicle and out comes another older gentleman, who we find out fairly quickly is completely deaf in one ear. As we became more familiar with him, he was more inclined to share with us his life’s story.

He was born and raised in South Africa, came to North America as a teenager with his family. Although the medical community could not determine a real cause for his hearing impediment, they did conclude that he was indeed legally deaf.

Luck was certainly on our side. Not only was this highly gifted man a shapeshifter, he also turned out to be the most remarkable past life regressionist we had ever encountered. He was so amazingly skilled in this practice that we actually had to schedule appointments to accommodate everyone who was interested to discover what happened in their previous lifetimes.

Every once in a while, the subject of his deafness would rise to the surface, simply because there was no known reason why this anomaly should have occurred. We would while away the time speculating as to the possible root cause of his affliction.

After about six months or so, a beautiful lady asked to participate in the past life regression sessions. Since there was indeed an available spot open at the time we gladly welcomed her to join us. Then the most astounding and remarkable thing happened!

The new lady arrived just as we are preparing to make ourselves comfortable for the session. She took one look at our deaf friend and clearly announced, “I know you. I know you from when we were in Africa together in another lifetime.” She then continues to let us all know that at that time they were young teenage warriors together.

Apparently she was a young man in that life, but our friend was the more proficient fighter. She was extremely jealous of him. One day, while they were out hunting, she picked up her spear, let it fly at him and it struck him cleanly in the ear! It was the same one he had completely lost his hearing in.

Some of us totally accept that there are unusual and mysterious forces at play that can bring about the most amazing circumstances. For us, indeed, this certainly was one of them. I am one of those souls who completely enjoy all of life’s ironies and take glorious comfort that we will always have such ‘strange connections.’

Yes, this is such a shocking and bizarre story, but we had no choice but to accept it as true, especially as the living proof was standing right before us. And she had no idea that he was deaf in one ear when she walked in that day.
