The Spirit Of Trees
As I remember it, the house that I lived in for the first five years of my life was huge. Just a few weeks ago, I took a little trip the that very home. When I drove by, I saw it was for sale. I decided to park in the drive and walk around.
As I made my way to the backyard it was just the same as I remembered it – only much smaller! The trees in the back, dividing the neighbors yard and ours, are still there, as well as the porch that was built off the back of the house. The huge birch tree is also still out front and still alive and well. I looked in the windows and it all seemed pretty much as I remembered it. I have wonderful memories of that home.
I remember growing up around lot of trees and thinking how they were my friends. Trees are indeed our friends. They are a wonderful gift to this planet. Sometimes we sit under them and read a book, take a nap, climb them. And we cut them down and make paper and all kind of things with them, homes, and so forth.
Trees exhale for us so that we can inhale them to stay alive. Can we ever forget that? Let us love trees with every breath we take until we perish ~ Munia Khan
During meditation spirit reminded me that trees can live hundreds of years and they have a conscious about them. They bring back memories to when we were younger and had a different view of the world. Trees have spirits. They are alive and they ground us. If we hug a tree and we image our energy connecting with the tree’s energy, and the roots going deep into the earth and connecting with the earth energy, it is a great way to connect and ground ourselves. Trees can make us feel balanced and energetically in alignment.
Spirit also shared with me how we are much like trees. We have different incarnations, we get old, and are reborn. Just like leaves, we dry up, turn brown, fall of the tree, but then the tree gives way to fresh and new leaves for another season.
Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ~ Warren Buffett
I was given the image of a cherry tree. With each season it gets fuller and grows bigger. This is the hope for us. With each new incarnation we evolve, our soul experiences more growth and evolves.
Have you hugged a special tree, that has been with you throughout your life? Do you ever have memories of a wonderful tree that is no longer with us on this planet. Trees are a wonderful blessings to us. They hold memories, give way to reflections, and help give us shade from the Sun.
