Create Your Own Energy Cleansing Spray
Remember the last time you changed out a dirty air filter from your air-conditioning unit, vacuum cleaner, or your car? Remember how clogged with dust it was? In our living spaces, negative energies accumulate over time just like those ‘dust bunnies.’
Even though we can’t see these energies, there is a way to clear them on a regular basis. Think of it as the spiritual version of house cleaning.
Just as we’re drawn to refresh our surroundings with a good spring clean, our homes and sacred spaces crave energetic renewal, too.
Energies from arguments, stress, illness, or even just the daily grind can leave behind subtle residue. This energetic debris doesn’t vanish on its own. Left unchecked, it can affect your mood, your sleep, and even the flow of abundance into your life.
The first and most obvious step to take is to physically clean your space. Clutter and unwanted items work as repositories for negative energy, so it’s important to get rid of it.
After you’re done, imagine the space being deep-cleaned with an indigo or violet-colored flame. Use this as a silent meditation, and picture the flames consuming all that invisible ‘dust.’
And, just like your body or your car, your space can be cleansed and cleared of obstructions.
The easiest way to do this is to create a personal essential oil blend, which can be sprayed throughout your office and home. If made right, these smell wonderful, although their main purpose is for energy clearing and not aromatherapy.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your very own space-clearing spray blend. The ingredients can be purchased at an herbal supplies or natural products store.

Essential Oils
This forms the base of your spray. You can experiment with a cotton swab to determine which one you like best. Popular choices include evergreens, such as cedar and fir, lemon or other citrus fruits, or herbs like rosemary or frankincense.
Plant and Flower Essences
These are chosen for their individual spiritual properties. Most sprays include a blend of two or more. If your spray is of a protective nature, consider yarrow (a good all-purpose flower), garlic, angelica, or St. John’s wort. To cleanse or purify, dandelion, sage, and sweetgrass are also popular. To bring light, use sunflower and morning glory. Learn about each plant or flower’s special properties before using it.
Gem and Crystal Essences
If you’ve worked with crystals before, you know that they are used to clear non-helpful energy vibrations. A good all-purpose essence is Black Tourmaline, which also helps rid our space of bad electronic energies. Other recommended gems and crystals include quartz, cinnabar, kyanite (a mineral which cannot hold any negative charge) and amethyst. As with the floral essences, take time to know each one of these beforehand. Two to three types is a good number to use.

Salt
Just like a pinch of salt is a necessity in almost any recipe, so it is with clearing sprays. Choose natural salts, such as Himalayan pink salt or sea salt, and avoid processed table salt.
To make your individual spray, consult a natural recipe book or reputable Internet site to find the amounts you’ll need. It’s helpful to smudge your space with sage beforehand, and pray or meditate before spraying.
If your spray doesn’t seem to work at first, try new ingredients. Keep at it, because the intent must be there in order for it to work properly. After a while, you’ll be able to detoxify your personal space and clear out those unwanted energies… and it will probably smell great, too!
